I’m Gonna Be Your Friend

Hi everyone,

We’ve seen quite a few questions being asked about the major crisis in East Africa.

As you’ve probably heard, thanks to a severe drought and rising food prices, millions of lives are being threatened — and it is, unfortunately, the children who are the most vulnerable in this dire situation. If you’d like to help, please click on the link below.

Also, check out this powerful short film — featuring Bob Marley & The Wailers’ 1973 track, “High Tide or Low Tide” — which was created by Kevin Macdonald (award-winning director of “The Last King of Scotland”) to raise awareness for this very important cause.

Power Your Future

As the latest example of How Good Grows on Yahoo!, we’re launching the Power Your Future program where we are highlighting stories of real women, both everyday and top leaders, who have found success in work and in life.

As part of this series, we are excited to announce that we are partnering with Fortune’s Most Powerful Women. Some of the country’s most successful female executives will be sharing with our audience insights and advice about everything from finding a mentor to thriving (not just surviving!) as a working mom. We’ll add content—news, stories, pictures, videos—daily.

Join us in kicking off the program by adding your experiences to the conversation. In one of our first videos, Gina Drosos, the head of Procter & Gamble’s beauty division, discusses how she keeps balance between her work life and her personal life.

What extreme choices have you made to keep your work-life balance intact?

We’re just getting started, so keep checking back to see examples of other women finding success in their lives and to share your perspective on the issues they discuss. And don’t forget to explore other articles in the Power Your Future series to read great stories from other women.

Royal Wedding Week!

Cue “Here Comes the Bride”: The wedding season will be here before you know it and what better way to start than the wedding of the decade. This week, as the world watches Prince William and Kate Middleton say “I do,” we invite you to Yahoo! Answers Royal Wedding Week.

As Prince William and Kate walk down the aisle this Friday, April 29, we’d like to hear your stories, secrets, and tips from your special day or upcoming nuptials.

To celebrate the most anticipated wedding, we’ll ask three questions this week and encourage you to share your moments and/or dreams. In addition, we’ll award the winning answers 100 bonus points.

The first question is about a moment that no one will ever forget…

Question:  How did your significant other propose to you?
