Nominate a Featured User!
Back in the day, the Yahoo! Answers Team used to find someone who would go above and beyond, providing such great contributions that they deserved to be featured. Rob Nock and The Singer are just a few examples. We’d like to start doing this again!
Every month or so we will profile a valuable Answers community member. But this time we want YOU to nominate our next featured user. Since you, the community, interact with one another, it only makes sense that you help us pick.
Here are some tips:
1. The points or levels do not matter.
2. Look closely at the user’s answers. Are they good quality answers? Do they provide necessary sources?
3. Look at your fans/contacts or the leaderboard of your favorite category. You can nominate a user whose answers helped you resolve a specific issue.
4. Look at questions too! Nominate someone who asks good, knowledge-seeking questions.
If you have someone in mind, email us at y_answrs_favorites@yahoo.com. In the subject line put “Nominate a Featured User.” In your email tell us why you nominated this user. Please do not nominate a user in the comment section!
Lastly, in case you were wondering, yes, you can nominate yourself!

I think it would be to dangerous for me to pick up a hitchhiker. This is not the same world as it was 50 years ago . Then you could sleep outside on the ground ,even on a busy street. Today you may never wake up doing the same thing. I do not think some of the people today do not have good values. Of course this is not everyones thinking.

I nominate Jim Baw… I mostly hang around in the Gender Studies forum, and people can be pretty brutal on that forum, and he’s always a source for good information, well thought out responses, and he’s Always nice to all the other regulars there.
Normally, I see him in Gender Studies, but I think he hangs in other forums, as well. He’s an all round Great Yahoo!Answer contributor.

I nominated Theatre Doc. He is very knowledgable in the “Theater and Acting” category and is always very helpful. He gives realistic answers, yet he never comes across as condescending. Thanks, Theatre Doc!
I nominate Aida and Dollhaus, who spend much of their time dealing with Latin translation requests. It takes a lot of energy to do this, and to prevent damage from being done by the ubiquitous Google Translate answers (GT can’t translate grammatical Latin!). On top of this, I have never found any answer posted by either of them that I believe to be incorrect – they know their stuff.
This is an excellent idea! Yes, those who take time and make an effort to give good, comprehensive, and life-changing (or at least suggesting ways to improve one’s take on an issue) answers should be acknowledged one way or the other, and this is a wonderful way to just do that. Therefore, syabas! to the Yahoo! Answers team for coming up with such a terrific campaign to boost the credibility of this awesome forum. Well done, guys!
I would not pick myself, nor would I choose some top contributors with what seems impeccable resolves, seems too often I catch and find point gamers, bullying, trolls, hackers, group therapeutic discrepancies of almost perfection,
Recently came across a phishing hack of Yahoo Answers, which is worse than a spambot, and could require shutdown for system maintenance,
So a best choice for featured user, may be someone who has been around, and has nice polite answers only, no rants, no points, no control,
I would like to see Ted Pack there. He gives good answers and links to back up his answers.
i really like this product is really educative and intresting
I always take a lot of time in my answers, and give solid, interesting, and well-thought out and researched suggestions.

I nominate myself, because I usually my answer is the only answer that has listed one or more sources that back up what I said or a hyperlink to an image or drawing/graphic that explains what I said a lot better than text can.
I’ve contributed a lot to YA in other ways, but I really don’t like tooting my own horn. The Yahoo IT staff knows what I’m talking about.

She is precise and very kind at all times.
I think this is a great opportunity for those of us who are longtime users to nominate and recognize ANOTHER user who has made a difference.

I am thinking of nominating several people! I find it so interesting how they always win a BA by 4 votes, everytime! A question left for 4 days, or a week, and only a scant few answers draw 1 vote, they always get 4!
