World Poetry Day on Yahoo! Answers
Do you love and appreciate poetry? Have you ever tried putting some rhymes together? There could be no better time to start practicing!
In 1999, UNESCO declared March 21st as World Poetry Day to support linguistic diversity and promote the reading, writing, publishing and teaching of poetry to help preserve this historic art in the digital era.
Every day many people submit their works in the Poetry category on Yahoo! Answers and ask the community for feedback and advice. You don’t need to be a pro to express yourself!
To celebrate both the event and the poets within the community we invite you to use your inspiration and compose a short piece of poetry on the theme “Spring”, which also starts today.

My mom entered this. Her poem is really good (no bias)! So how are these judged, I am wondering? Does it automatically depend on the number of thumbs-up? (Because I don’t trust a lot of the people on here!) Or does someone who actually understands good poetry look them over? Thank you!
How will the poems be rated? By the general public? There’re mean people out there putting thumbs down on every post they see.
I see my comment was somehow deleted. I would appreciate it if someone was kind enough to answer my question: Who determines the winner? Anyone? Or someone on the “yahoo answers team”? Thank you.
I am a poet and is actively working to publish my first poetry book. I am happy yahoo has made this great venue for poetry.
Loving it from morning to night
If no sunshine in the day light
Words put together make beauty
