2010 Year in Review: 10 Most Popular Questions
In the spirit of the holidays and the closing of the year, we thought we’d celebrate the 10 most popular questions — the ones that got the most answers from you, our awesome community. So we put together this Year in Review… and there will be even more quirky and fun end-of-the-year blog posts coming up in the next few weeks!
Yahoo! Answers readers ask a lot of questions about celebrities and sports, and this year was no exception. Big sports events such as soccer’s World Cup and the U.S. Open tennis tournament were especially popular subjects.
If you could ask David Beckham one question, what would you ask him and why?
Who would you choose to be in your World Cup team of the tournament?
What is the most thrilling part of tennis to you? (asked by Andy Roddick)
What tips can you give me for this year’s US Open? (asked by Andy Roddick)
We know how stylish the Answers community is, as “Beauty and Style” was the sixth-most-popular category this year. Some of our featured knowledge partners asked some interesting questions, including Pantene’s questions on hair.
What’s the best way to keep your hair healthy and shiny?
How do you pick the right hair care products for you?
It’s also no secret that we like holidays. We enjoyed reading what your plans were for Valentine’s Day, your Halloween traditions, and your most memorable vacations.
Do you have a Halloween tradition you did as a kid that you now do with your child?
What was your best memory in a foreign city? Why was it so memorable?
Many Answers users are also passionate about other properties, such as Yahoo! Groups, and the Answers team received great feedback to relay to the Yahoo! Groups team on what users wanted to see.
If you could introduce one new feature onto Yahoo! Groups, what would it be?
Thanks to everyone who participated in answering these questions and for continuing to be a part of Yahoo! Answer’s thriving community! Now that you’ve seen 2010′s top 10 questions, what questions do you want to see on Answers for 2011? Leave your suggestions below!

So I think the most important question that 2011 needs to answer is: How do magnets work? I tried asking Mormons, but I’ve been getting mixed answers.
omg i always wonder how magnets work too
((((
These so called ‘top 10′ aren’t deep enough,… it be better to ask deep things of life / truth / meaning.
hey have you ever thought about making YA! points exchangeable for something ?
Weird how the top 10 wouldn’t even probably make my top 1000.
Well my question for 2011 would be Why did the media and the nasa stop talking about 2012 and the end of the world ?!
These are all staff or celebrity questions. While this was interesting to read, I’d be more interested in what the most popular questions were that were asked by normal users.
Actually I see and answer all sorts of questions regarding college financial aid/loans and finding/tracing one’s family tree/family history (including the question of one being of Native American ancestry and how can the person prove it.) They keep on being asked by different people (who obviously do not check on previously answered questions/Best Answers.) Those questions tend to be answered with the same/similar info (because the best info doesn’t change.)
So, I recommend compiling questions in a similar vein and offering a link the Best Answers or a combo of the answers, on a regular basis, when one clicks on the relevant section where he/she may ask the question:
Education – Financial Aid
Arts & Humanities – Genealogy
I’d be happy to compile those questions/answers for Yahoo! Answers as a remote Yahoo! employee (for a fee), by the way.
Hope u all have a wonder xmas!!!!
heres a good question, what is the meaning of life? why are we here? how do we know god really exists?
I beg to differ. The absolute 2 most popular questions are:
“Am I pregnant?”
“Does he like me?”
If we were going for most popular questions asked by normal readers one of them would have to be “Can you tell me some good books to read?” Often clarified with “good books like Twilight, Vampire Diaries, Vampire Kisses…” or “that do not have vampires in them”
The questions are usual , but there are a lots of people interesting that thinks
this are great
The people rely like to be informed
