Changes to the My Activity Page
We’re pleased to announce a new re-design of the My Activity page to freshen up the page as well as some changes to how you control who sees your content.

As we’ve made quite a few changes we’ve broken this down for you by section, so let’s get started.
1 – Member Info
Avatar:
- Your avatar is now larger and now displays your Best Answer percentage right below it.
Activity Summary:
- We’ve removed the Activity Summary chart and simplified it so it’s now included at the top of this box.
- Your name is now displayed on the right side of your avatar with your registration date, level, and total points, points needed for the next level and how many points you earned this week.
We’ve kept the `How others see me` link so you can check how you are viewed publicly.
2 – My Statistics
- We’ve moved the My Statistics chart up the page and this will now show details around both your questions and answers.
- For you to keep track of how popular your questions are with the Answers community we now track how many of your questions have received stars.
3 – Your Q&A
- Your content now appears right below the user card. We haven’t changed what the functions of the tabs do, they still do the following:
o My Answers: The default tab that displays the five most recent questions you have answered. Want to see them all? Click on `More Answers`. You can sort these by all answers or best answers.
o My Questions: The Question tab displays the five most recent questions you have asked.
o My Starred Questions: The My Starred Questions tab displays the most recent questions you have starred. These can be sorted in order of the newest, oldest or questions with the most stars.
o Watchlist: The Watchlist tab displays the most recent questions that you are tracking.
4 – Activity Details
On the old Profile page, the Activity Summary tab and Activity Details tab were combined into the same module. We have now created a separate Activity Details module and it is placed right under your Q&A. From here, you’ll be able to peruse all of your recent activity on the site.
5 – My Network’s Q&A
With the new page we’ve brought all of your Network and your Network’s Q&A together towards the bottom of the page.
In addition we’ve made another change to how you share your questions and your Answers Network:
Sharing and Network
Many of you gave us feedback that you wanted more control over who you Share your Q&A and Answers Network with.
Now under Edit My Preferences, on the Privacy and Communications tab you have the option to share your Q&A and Network with:
- Everyone
- My Contacts and Fans
- My Contacts
As a reminder, contacts are people you add and fans are people who add you.

Clicking on the “More” under the answer or watchlist tab is returning an error. And under the “activity tab” did you guys forget to give us the expanded list we having been begging for. It has only been 3 years.
Loving the new layout. Clean, crisp, easy to read and use and seamless flow from questions to profile.
But (isn’t there always a but?) I do have a few things I’m not thrilled about.
Watchlist: I’ve kept a number of deleted questions on “My Watchlist” for some very specific reasons – and now they have all disappeared. I think if I choose to keep them there, I should be allowed to retain them.
Network Q&A: I would like the return of the option to ‘hide’ my Network’s latest q&a as we previously were able to do, so they don’t distract me. I know where to find them if I’m interested.
Thanks for your continued efforts to improve the site, though. Much appreciated.
You may also want to check community moderation. It appears to have been knocked off during these profile page changes.
I agree with not removing deleted questions from the watchlist. There are reasons for keeping them there. Just make sure to remove deleted questions from the questions list. Could you please remove content from accounts that have been deleted as well? This is especially applicable to accounts that have been suspended for true violations.

I like it Its a nice change. Everything is right in front of you with a larger appearance. Its a welcomed change.
Change can be scary to an ole person. In this case it’s annoying, in that my avatar just disappeared. WAHHH!
CAN YOU SHOW US ALL THE YAHOO ANSWERS BEST ANSWERS WE ANSWERED IN THEN IT WOULD BE COOL AND INTERESTING!!!!!!
It’s ugly and cumbersome. Difficult to find stuff. Change it back. Or at least give us the option to keep the old setup.
Why is it that under my statistics all of my questions fall under the “open” category, but yet they’ve all been resolved?

I found the new layout very easy to adapt to. Very smooth transition with no glitches (at least for me) Good job Y/A

Still getting error going through the watchlist and question pages. It works with a backpage and try again. Also CM is down and nothing is dropping.
The changes are fine, but for one thing. I do not like having the link to my “Pulse” on my YA profile. I changed it to Hidden until this is resolved. I preferred having this separate from the Pulse. I scoured through all the settings and cannot find how to remove that.
I don’t mind the new profile layouts, I think it will be easy to adjust to. The only bad thing is that it doesn’t show how many best answers you have. Unless I’ve just looked over it? ..
I love the lay out and the size of my profile page. It is so easy to see and the avatar is now large enough to make out what some of them are. Pulse has been a thorn in my side and I don’t like seeing that on my page.
I am grateful for the extra effort that y/a’s is now going to in order to eliminate false reporting of questions and answers. Keep up with the improvements and more good people will be here to stay. Like me, I’ve been here 4 yrs. and have been on a see-saw. Do I stay or do I go ? As of today, I’m staying. God is good.
Too cluttered!
Add a ‘hide/show’ link as before…so the page can look neat and compact.
Show number of contacts and fans too.
Except for the larger Avatar, everything else is unnecessary change…just for the sake of change!!!
Please make the personal information section at the top smaller. It takes up so much space it pushes “My Network’s Q&A” straight off the page as it’s displayed on first loading. I shouldn’t have to scroll down every single time I wish to see what my Contacts are up to. It was much more convenient how it was displayed before.
Is it possible to see which of my questions were deemed of interest (received a star) by the Y!A community?
Why exactly do you people up there need to keep deleted questions on your watchlist? They are DELETED. They are GONE. You can’t do anything with them except see the title and who posted it. Good riddance that they were removed from your list. Why would you want to hang onto old garbage.
I hate the new format, it’s really annoying I wish they would change it back.
I like the new layout. It’s crisp and clean. The new layout is a definite improvement from the old ones.
The only problem I have with the new profile page is that View Pulse option. You can hide your profile if you don’t want people to contact you but they can get your contact info from your Pulse. If it’s gone to be a part a the profile there should be a way to hide/block people from viewing it as well.
Love the new layout; it’s very fresh and clean, easy to navigate and very modern!
If I may make a suggestion, though? There should be a place for us to search for our own answers/questions in addition to the normal Y!A search engine, instead of having to browse through 50 pages of our Q&A if we want to refer back to something.

This change is not a good one. People have posted here agreeing with me, and you keep deleting their comments. Stop trying to silence those who disagree with you.

Could you please make an option so we can post our questions in different categories? There are some questions that belong in a couple of categories… for example in Words and Wordplay AND in Quotations.

Livin’ in La-La-Land, if it needs to go in both categories then post it in those two categories…DUH!
We don’t need a special feature for that. If you think we do then you need to post it on the suggestions board otherwise yahoo won’t give it a second thought.

Thanks for adding the third option to show stuff to contacts+fans. Also its a good thing to show the network Q&A on my activity page.
However on the Contacts/fans, please also put the number of contacts/fans like it showed before. eg. More contacts (6) , More fans ( 45 ) . I know it shows the number of the contacts/fans when you click the ‘more’ button but it’s nice to have it on the first page itself like it was before.
Also, is it possible to have Non-best answers link? On the answers tab there’s All answers, Best answers. Can the ‘non best answers’ be incorporated at least for personal viewing, for people who have high percentage of best answers, it’d be nice to view the questions which didn’t win the best answers.

And please please undo the recent change made w.r.t. the ‘edited’ thingy. It really is a bad update. Let’s say I see after 2 days there’s a typo in my answer, or if I want to add few words here and there, it totally would suck editing after 2 days of giving my answer. I don’t want the timestamp on it if I just edit a subtle typo or something. I just saw one in my answer which i gave few days back and i want to add few words, but i don’t want the timestamp of editing now. this really is bad. please undo it. thanks
