We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve created a brand new mobile site and it’s ready for you to use. Everything you love about Yahoo! Answers is now available on-the-go.

Will it work on my phone?

The new mobile-optimized version of Yahoo! Answers makes it easy for you to keep track of points, open questions, and stay on top of what people are asking wherever and whenever the mood grabs you. Our new mobile site will work with most phones but you’ll see it at its very best on the newest phones, such as iPhone, Android and the latest Blackberrys.

See it in action

We’ve put together this short video, to show you why we’re so excited…

With Yahoo! Answers optimized for mobile, you can:

  • Ask, Answer, and Discover questions as you would on the computer
  • Vote and select a best answer
  • Easily access your profile, points, and open questions to check on your activity
  • Check out new open questions being asked every second
  • Rack up more points when you’re out and about

  18. This will be convenient for many people but I prefer using the full website on my phone (I have a good phone). But I see this as a beneficial tool for other people because this is a great alternative to chacha or kgb.

  19. Its good. It really surprised me when it just popped up instead of the normal site, but now i’m getting used to it and its really easy to use. Just one little niggle though that annoys me is that I cant find any way to view search results by when they were asked. (like the “newest” button on the actual site)

Can you, please, send to me OR update the article to have the direct URL to the mobile web site?

  30. Awesome, got it on my iPod ONLY problem is you can’t Edit anything after posting it :( which is a pain because my iPod is touch, i sometimes misspell stuff and it suggests something so I’ll have sentences like “maybe you should rye something” rye as in try but came out wrong

This had already cause a lot of confusion haha x

  39. I’m so glad you guys made Y! Answer mobile. I randomly discovered it just trying to check the fullscreen version on my phone. But one thing that bothers me is the answers profile. It doesn’t work! I would love to be able to check my profile and my answers and questions!

  40. YES! FINALLY! You forgot one thing though, thumb ups and downs. AWESOME!!!

  41. The site should automatically detect your mobile and serve the mobile version of the site. If it doesn’t do this then you may find that there is a link at the very bottom of the site in the footer called “Mobile Version” which will switch you. If that’s not there or doesn’t work, it may be that you’ve got a phone that we’re not yet detecting. If you let me know what the phone is I can take a look in to it.

  42. Everything is great, except that we are not able to rate answers (TU/TD) and check our watchlist.

  43. i still think you guys should make an actual iphone APP. not just a mobile site.

  44. Finally! I could use Y!A on my Sidekick 3 and LX last year but when they revamped the site, I couldn’t answer or ask aymore or star and thumb up or down. Now I can use it again on my cell, though I can’t TU or TD and can’t see everything but it’s a start! Also I can switch between the desktop and mobile version.
    Sweet Y!A, Thanks!

  47. Theres a glitch where if you view yahoo answers on my mobile in desktop mode instead of mobile it wont change it back to desktop without me having to clear my internet history. I have a blackberry 9700 could you try fix this thanks.

  48. Like several others my browser isn’t defaulting to the mobile view. When I enter “answers.yahoo.com,” I always get the full desktop view on my HTC EVO 4G. (Yeah, I know how to change the default, but I like the desktop view for many websites.)

Why can’t you give us the direct to URL? (In other words, please, update this blog / article.)

  49. i have bb curve but i’m not able to ask, anwer, or vote. i just read, star, and gain points by singing in. and nothing is wrong with my phone

  50. It looks ugly on the phone. The background for the answers is a gradient that’s white to black and it makes it impossible to read a really long question at the end. Please change the background to white or the green you have. It’s really stupid like that.
