Yahoo! Answers goes Mobile
Have you ever wondered, “If only I had an easier way to find answers for my questions when I’m out and about.” Now, the wait is officially over!
We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve created a brand new mobile site and it’s ready for you to use. Everything you love about Yahoo! Answers is now available on-the-go.
Will it work on my phone?
The new mobile-optimized version of Yahoo! Answers makes it easy for you to keep track of points, open questions, and stay on top of what people are asking wherever and whenever the mood grabs you. Our new mobile site will work with most phones but you’ll see it at its very best on the newest phones, such as iPhone, Android and the latest Blackberrys.
See it in action
We’ve put together this short video, to show you why we’re so excited…
With Yahoo! Answers optimized for mobile, you can:
- Ask, Answer, and Discover questions as you would on the computer
- Vote and select a best answer
- Easily access your profile, points, and open questions to check on your activity
- Check out new open questions being asked every second
- Rack up more points when you’re out and about
We hope you’re as excited about the mobile version of Yahoo! Answers as we are. Give it a try today! To check it out, visit www.answers.yahoo.com on your phone.

Finally a mobile version of Answers! It was frustrating using the desktop version on my iPhone. This update is amazing. Thank you answers team, and keep up the great work.
Yahoo answers, my world is now complete!
Thank you , thank you and thank you. Great mobile version.
The new mobile site works well on my Android phone. Good job, Yahoo! Answers team!
Yeah I saw it this morning when I logged on! I got really excited
Finally! I’ve been waiting for this. Very exciting!
nice!
how do I change it back to mobile on my palm pixi? Right now it’s set as computer layout…
THANK YOU
I have been waiting for YEARS. Now I can ask a question about something when I am out and about instead of having to wait to get home.
Glad to hear it!!!
Good times to own a smart phone!
ITS ABOUT FREAKING TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Im soooo happy!
You can’t see thumbs ups or thumbs downs.
This will be convenient for many people but I prefer using the full website on my phone (I have a good phone). But I see this as a beneficial tool for other people because this is a great alternative to chacha or kgb.
Its good. It really surprised me when it just popped up instead of the normal site, but now i’m getting used to it and its really easy to use. Just one little niggle though that annoys me is that I cant find any way to view search results by when they were asked. (like the “newest” button on the actual site)
I love the mobile version. But where is my ups and downs? You completely forgot about that! D:
Yay! I had been using the horrible Western Ints app for the ipod that hasn’t been updated in forever and crashes constantly!
I love the new site, thanks!
Ok thats nice. Where is it? You announce a new mobile version but what is the URL? I went to answers.yahoo.com and I got the same website. I tried m.answers.yahoo.com and it couldnt find the page.
Should make it easier to switch back to mobile after selecting “desktop” when needing to edit an answer and such.
Ha Ha! Found the mobile link at the bottom right hand side.
lovely XD
Looks really nice on the iPhone but…
No thumbs up or thumbs down
And sometimes navigation is tricky.
I would definitely would want to have this on my future mobile.
The URL doesn’t work for me, as I’ve set my phone to NOT go to mobile versions by default.
Can you, please, send to me OR update the article to have the direct URL to the mobile web site?
YahooAnswer would be for an inquisitive mind like mine.
Awesome, got it on my iPod ONLY problem is you can’t Edit anything after posting it
which is a pain because my iPod is touch, i sometimes misspell stuff and it suggests something so I’ll have sentences like “maybe you should rye something” rye as in try but came out wrong
This had already cause a lot of confusion haha x
whats the url? i clicked on desktop version because i wanted to check something but now i dont know how to reverse back to mobile.
ADD THE UPS AND DOWNS!
that was my idea, soooooooo glad they made it
)))
its the greatest past time ever
Oh…ehm…GEEEEEEE!!!!!
I ♥ you guys!!! Now I have something added onto my list of things to do on my cell!!! You guys are awesome sauce. Even though Opera Mini is good, the overall layout is so big for the PC version it makes it hard still. Thanks!
i love it !!
i’ve just used it !!
and i was wondering, i’m an iphone user and you guys should make a free easy to use app !!
The plural for Blackberry is “Blackberries”.
Wicked!
To Dub, it’s stated, “To check it out, visit http://www.answers.yahoo.com on your phone.”
I tried it, it’s really cool, thanks Yahoo!
awesome!! the desktop version on my phone sucked!
I’m so glad you guys made Y! Answer mobile. I randomly discovered it just trying to check the fullscreen version on my phone. But one thing that bothers me is the answers profile. It doesn’t work! I would love to be able to check my profile and my answers and questions!
YES! FINALLY! You forgot one thing though, thumb ups and downs. AWESOME!!!
The site should automatically detect your mobile and serve the mobile version of the site. If it doesn’t do this then you may find that there is a link at the very bottom of the site in the footer called “Mobile Version” which will switch you. If that’s not there or doesn’t work, it may be that you’ve got a phone that we’re not yet detecting. If you let me know what the phone is I can take a look in to it.
Everything is great, except that we are not able to rate answers (TU/TD) and check our watchlist.
i still think you guys should make an actual iphone APP. not just a mobile site.
Finally! I could use Y!A on my Sidekick 3 and LX last year but when they revamped the site, I couldn’t answer or ask aymore or star and thumb up or down. Now I can use it again on my cell, though I can’t TU or TD and can’t see everything but it’s a start! Also I can switch between the desktop and mobile version.
Sweet Y!A, Thanks!
Oh yeah! And can’t edit also or star! I’m hopin it’ll be fixed soon.
What is the URL of Y!Answers mobile?
I switched to desktop mode on my blackberry web and it wont go back, the link at the bottom of the page is not working for me… huhuhu
Theres a glitch where if you view yahoo answers on my mobile in desktop mode instead of mobile it wont change it back to desktop without me having to clear my internet history. I have a blackberry 9700 could you try fix this thanks.
Like several others my browser isn’t defaulting to the mobile view. When I enter “answers.yahoo.com,” I always get the full desktop view on my HTC EVO 4G. (Yeah, I know how to change the default, but I like the desktop view for many websites.)
Why can’t you give us the direct to URL? (In other words, please, update this blog / article.)
i have bb curve but i’m not able to ask, anwer, or vote. i just read, star, and gain points by singing in. and nothing is wrong with my phone
It looks ugly on the phone. The background for the answers is a gradient that’s white to black and it makes it impossible to read a really long question at the end. Please change the background to white or the green you have. It’s really stupid like that.
I am so glad you guys showed me where to find a great deal on a simmons mattress.
Ok so how can i get it on my fone like Now!!
Do we have to have internet for this? Is it kinda like facebook mobil because facebook mobile dosent need internet
And even now I find this? OMG
Awww man.. Apps are so much easier than having to wait on my browser! I am surprised you guys are ending the app. that sux
The Browser is so much slower!
hi i have a blackberry curve 9300 i pressed the desktop button last night as i wanted to edit my question but now it wont let me go back onto mobile one and the desktop one says its too large to view
This new application makes me thankful for my iPhone. It’s great to know that I can search for answers on the cloud wherever in the world I may be. Yahoo Answers mobile is the best for a tech-savvy like me. When I started reading this post, I was like OMG!
yes i want y!a
