Hosting “Saturday Night Live” might not be good enough for Betty White – everyone wants her on the big stage. Facebook fans have now launched a new page, “Getting Betty White to Host the Academy Awards.”

Just days after hosting “SNL” for the first time on Saturday night — thanks to a Facebook campaign called “Betty White to Host SNL…Please?” — fans want to see more of our favorite “Golden Girl.” On Sunday night, the new page already had over 6,000 fans, and today it has over 17,000. Might we see the 88-year-old handing out Oscars?

The Betty White “SNL” campaign proved very successful:  With musical guest Jay-Z, Saturday night’s episode saw its highest ratings in more than 18 months. After rave reviews, Betty White proved that she still has her comedy side. Did you watch “SNL”? What did you think? Where do you want to see Betty White next?

  1. I would love it if Betty White were to host the Academy Awards! She would be so funny, would have to tone down some things, but I bet she’ll be making jokes about sleeping with some of the actors if she were to do it!

I hope someone starts another facebook petition for her.

I hope that I’m as sharp as her when I’m 88.

  2. The Academy should make her host of the Oscar, and I’m all for it. Where do I sign the petition.

  3. I love Betty White!
Unfortunately I didn’t get to see SNL.
But I saw a lot of the aftermath hype on all the news and talk shows and newspapers.

One newspaper ran a article that called her performance (on SNL) “foul mouthed”

I don’t know if she was foul on SNL or not, it’s late night and some degree of ‘smut’ is OK in the time slot.
But I’m not so sure about the Academy Awards time slot?

I am an adult without little ones at home so *I* wouldn’t mind.. not at all!

  8. Her jokes on SNL were creepy! It was overly sexual and it seems as uncomfortable as hearing my grandma talk like that (my grandma never would- I get yelled at for swearing and having other “un-lady-like behavior” and she had one of her “friends” look at my myspace and they told her she would have a heart attack if she knew the things I posted.)

Although looking at the Golden Girls kind of had jokes like that but they were much milder.

Yet I don’t mind Talk Sex With Sue and she’s older too, but I think its cool that an older woman is so well educated about things most people her age won’t talk about.

  10. I will definitely appreciate, love Betty to do it!!! She represents what is acting, hollywood, talent, fun, intelligence… We have been too many years into the lame lights of sexy, hot, young, sexually seductive people…we want to see somebody that we know that is not there because of the sad way we choose people to be up there… Hugh was great…don’t get me wrong but Betty will revive the art for all of us and we want that for her too SHE DESERVES IT… LOV U BETTY!

  11. I think it would be hilarious if Betty White was creating all this publicity for herself. hhhahhahha Pay no attention to the lady behind the curtain! hahha! I don’t think she is but that would totally crack me up.

I think she would do just fine at the Oscars, and I think she did great on SNL. She was a very gracious host and did well. My fav part actually was her monologue, and the closing credits when she thanked them for letting her host…and when Jay Z put his arm around her like he was her son or something, that was a very sweet gesture. I also liked the NPR skit about the muffin. It was absolutely a classic episode. I had lost so much interest in SNL over the years.

  15. Go Betty!
The Oscars would actually be entertaining! I read their ratings have been way down, and I’m not surprised because that show is hella boring. The last time it was surprisingly very good is when Neil Patrick Harris hosted. Have the Oscars ever had a female host? Betty can be a trail blazer, I love this woman!!
    TEAM BETTY!!
