I’m Elizabeth. Everyone shortens it before asking me what I like, so I get called by names which I don’t like. So I think I’m just going to introduce myself as Lily from now on.

The reason why Elizabeth, Oliver, Edward etc have nicknames beginning with N is rather interesting. It stems from the fact people used to refer to their loved ones as ‘Mine’ (rather than ‘my’). Hence, Mine Ellie, Mine Oll, Mine Ed. From here, it doesn’t take much imagination to see how the nicknames Nellie, Noll or Ned came into being.

My name is Indiana, so i get Indi from most people, but my friends call me Tilly for some reason.
My friends last named is Kelly, so we call her Ned, Neddie, or Neddison, because of Ned Kelly =)
