Ask Mike: The toughest superhero
Hey Guys,
I’m not what one would call mature. I play video games and eat brownies for breakfast. So it should come as no surprise that I spend what some might call an inordinate amount of time contemplating which superhero would win in an all-out brawl. Knowing that I couldn’t answer this by myself, I consulted the good folks of Yahoo! Answers.
Many responders went with the obvious choice — Superman. And I can’t say that I blame them. After all, he’s got super-strength, he’s pretty much impervious to pain, and he can fly really, really fast. But, he’s got one big thing going against him — the “K” word. Kryptonite pretty much turns him into a chump. Can someone with such an obvious flaw really be the tops?
An article that originally appeared in Wizard Magazine back in 1997 ranks the top ten “toughest” superheroes and came to what I would call a surprising conclusion. They rank The Hulk number 10. Hulk no like such disrespect! Superman has the third spot, Thor number two, and the winner, according to Wizard? None other than that great hippie in the sky, Silver Surfer.
This list, while interesting, is just one of many. Another article from a blogger at Helium ranks Superman numero uno and Professor Charles Xavier in the two spot. Interesting question — Professor X can get inside people’s minds, but could he get inside the mind of the Man of Steel? I’ll leave it for you to debate.
Yet another top ten list from Old-Wizard.com ranks Silver Surfer number two (really, I had no idea this guy was so respected), and Thor in the top spot. The list compiler notes that Thor and Silver Surfer have battled twice in comics and both times Thor came out on top.
Finally, one can’t ignore a list from a site called “The Nifty Nerd.” The writer places The Green Lantern in third, Silver Surfer in second, and a guy named “Duplicate Boy” as the most powerful superhero in history. When I first saw “Duplicate Boy,” I thought the writer was making a joke, but apparently he’s a real superhero. His shtick: He can duplicate any power from any superhero he comes into contact with. Wikipedia writes that this ability makes him “potentially more powerful than every other superhero in the 30th century…”
OK, so there you have four strong opinions. What say you, comic book fans? Could Superman really beat the Hulk? Is Silver Surfer really as tough as everybody says? And what about Wonder Woman? One should never count out the Amazon Princess. Please leave a shamelessly nerdy comment below.
Thanks for reading,

From a Purely Power based stance, Hulk wins. Because of his ANGER based power, the angrier he gets, well you get the idea.
SS is Pretty powerful, and has the Brains to properly handle his powers.
Also Magik, in the DC realm hurts Superman quite effectively, as does being Mentally manipulated.
Superman is first the greatest then comes Batman. But the greatest comic book for me is The Shadow. I have read the comics book, the books and have somewhere the albums that had Orson Wells as the Shadow. Alec Baldwin was no Shadow. Orson Wells was Great. Victor I forgot his last name was ok in the serials. I have them also.
i’m not sure about the strongest, but i think batman is the greatest. he doesn’t have any super powers, which is why he’s the best! he beats evil with a utility belt every time, and he doesn’t need anything else. he’s crafty, and strong mentally and physically.
” Duplicate Boy” Hmmm.. if he comes in contact with Superman, does he acquire the Kriptonite Curse too?
By far the toughest superhero (if you can call her that) is the Scarlet Witch. Just by uttering three words, “No more mutants”, she brought the number of mutants in the world from well into the thousands to approximately 198. And before that, she warped the world so that normal humans were the minority and many people became mutants. A woman so powerful as to alter the world at her whim is clearly the toughest superhero, even if she’s not necessarily on the side of good.
wolverine is teh best evars
WHAT! That should not be a question ! How can you not realize that Hulk is the total bomb when cming to super heroes he can knock superman with a little nudge from his pinky and could make Iron man have no iron on him with a sneeze that would make him tumble to the ground! How can you not agree!!! Please reply!
Definetely Punisher or wolverine. Just becasue they are the two most Brutal
No disrespect, but the beyonder would have ate them all for lunch with but a single thought. The only one who came close to matching the beyonder was Molecule man. Those two were in a class of their own. And let’s face it. And let’s face it, the Martian Manhunter was every bit as tough as Superman but he also had abilities that Superman could not defend against – like telepathy and going insubstantial.
If you just wanted the capacity to do violence, then I suppose that list is valid enough. But if you really wanted to know who would win a brawl, then the Beyonder and Molecule Man tops that list.
No one is tougher than Super Mario! First, check out this officially licensed picture of him from the Donkey Kong era: http://www.platypuscomix.net/interactive/fiercekong.jpg
Sure, Mario operates in an alternate realm, but if he were to engage in a cross-realm battle with, say, Superman, he would only need to grab a star and one of his man flying power-ups, and he’d knock Superman out like a puny goomba.
Hulk could definitely beat Superman, especially now that he’s “smart hulk.” But even old rampaging Hulk would at least tie, cause he would just keep getting madder and bigger and stronger…
Silver Surfer is tough, but I would have never thought of him as a top superhero, same with Wonder Woman.
Never heard of Duplicate boy, but reading up on his powers, he sure sounds like the top dog. At first I thought he had ot make physical contact with them, like Rogue, but if not, and the fact that he could duplicate multiple powers at a time I don’t see how he could be beaten!
GALACTUS-MOST POWERFULL, IF ONLY LOOKING FOR SUPER-”HEROES” THEN CHARLES XAVIER OF COURSE.
Well I know who would win… Captain Price from Call of Duty 4! But if it had to be a bona fide superhero than i would have to fall back on Wolverine, after all he can recover from any wound.
I personally have always thought that Duplicate Boy should be more respected, but he has never really been brought to general knowledge even in the comic book fan boy club. In my opinion he has only one weakness: he has to learn about his new powers and figure out the limits each time. That single weakness is often a downfall, but he can get himself out of most problems that he gets himself into.
hey one the most thought super heros are in marvel ex: galcitus odin blackheart oh my all time favorite mephisto blackhearts dad who can controlls minds of people while being in hell and they can all have a chance against superman
Something I’ve found interesting. Every now and again Something causes me to want to look up info on some of the cartoons and movies I liked as a kid. In one instance it was He-Man I was looking up. Now I don’t mean the most recent series, I mean the ’80s series. I was a bit surprised to find a comicbook cover from a He-Man-Superman crossover. Basically He-Man meets Superman and on the cover Superman clearly states he’s finally met someone powerful enough to possibly kill him and there’s nothing he can do to stop it. Gotta remember He-Man was stated to be the most powerful man in the universe. Now Hulk may get stronger the madder he gets, but can he get strong enough to beat someone said to be the most powerful in the universe? Superman didn’t think he could beat He-Man and he’s incredibly powerful.
Where is Wolverine, bub?
I vote Spawn. He is really underrated, if I’m not mistaken he banished both God and Satan to an eternal realm to battle for eternity. He had the chance to rule hell and turned it down (not only a sign of his power but also his character) he is virtually invincible. Now I’m speaking about the spawn after his power limiter was removed and everything. He could created whatever he wanted with magic, his powers were virtually unlimited. Spawn could manifest a room full of Kryptonite and kill superman, he could freeze time and destroy the Silver Surfer. So he is almost invincible (he has no powers in one section of earth that is touched by heaven or something like that, and can die if beheaded by a holy weapon ((but he actually survived that somehow))) he has unlimited magical powers (although he can get tired i believe) he can control evil animals and bugs, he can manifest tangible objects or visions. I mean it’s hard to argue that a guy who banished God and Satan to a parallel realm can be beaten by a guy that can be killed with a fancy green rock. If I had to make a second pick, I’d go with Thor’s father Odin. Odin and Spawn would probably fight for eternity lol.
Well logic dictates that duplicate boy will be, since he can basically copy your power but then again since he is basically copying your powers, you will natural know more about your power and thus have the upper hand. so that will rule out duplicate boy. My vote will have to go to Xavier, that is if every super hero is a “mutant” if that is the case then he can see u coming from a 1000 miles away..know what you will do before you do it ..basically he will be pretty much hard to surprise. i don’t know much about Comics, i am just using pure logic so correct me if i am wrong.
Wonder woman could take all of them, probably all at once. Beside’s which super hero is going to actually hurt her. I hear she got some really awesome secret powers. Superman would be p-whooped in no time.
Umm Wolverine is the best!
He has an all but indestructable skelaton, and has immense healing power.
Oh and by the way. . . the dude can’t even get drunk!
Well, while I don’t think that he would win in a superhero brawl, I think Batman is by far the toughest. I mean he does what every other superhero does, without any fancy laser eyes or super-strength. He does it all with good old-fashioned gumption… unless you consider money a superpower. If any other superheros were to lose their powers, than Batman would annihilate them in a fight. So he’s maybe not the strongest or fastest superhero, but there’s no question that he is the toughest.
Besides, Batman the Animated Series was the best show ever!
I definitely think Xavier would win. Duplicate Boy has to touch them, right? Well, as long as Xavier could keep him from touching him, he could get into any of their minds and kill them from his seat, probably without moving. I don’t think any hero’s brute strength is any match for his brain and psychic powers, especially telekinesis.
What about molecule man he was from marvel comics with the beyonder he could effect any matter on a molecular level kinda of hard to kick a guys butt when he can litterally turn you to swiss cheese
I remember reading somewhere that surprisingly enough Batman was the number one superhero, now I must say that upon initial contemplation I thought…no freakin way….but once I read on, it kinda made sense. Here is the short of it…basically Batman is one of the smartest heroes, with a very elevated IQ and as such he has basically built a batsuit that’s specifically tailored to handle up on other heroes, depending on which one he has to fight. There was even one made for old Super himself in which his suit has you guessed it “Krytonite”. Further, he has had several fights with other heroes and has eventually prevailed in just about all of them…so yeah there you go. Not sure how much I agree with this, but wanted to put it out there, as I found it an interesting summation.
Thanks for the post, I enjoyed thinking about this.
the toughest Superhero was my dad…He served our beloved USA in the Korean War, feared God, and paid his taxes. He died too young fighting off Nicotine addiction.
spiderman wins hands down. and i believe the hulk could beat the crap out of that retarded silver surfer
I think that Duplicate Boy wiuld definately win because his power is too cheap and the 2nd place person would be superman because he is stornger and faster than anyone else (except for the fast part, *cough flash*), but when superman would punch him he would just get his powers. so then superman vs superman, i guess its a tie for 1st.
Tough call…
I disagree with Nifty nerd site. While Duplicate boy can duplicate powers by “contact”, he:
1) has no experience with those powers, therefore can be defeated by same superhero in most cases who has had whole life to hone powers.
2) a mutant such as Leech (of the Morlocks) could nullify duplicate boy’s power just by being in proximity to him.
Its only one scenario, im sure there are others.
Id like to read those Thor vs Silver Surfer though..sounds interesting!
God is the toughest super hero
hey yeah, according to me,the top spot should be superman……
I knew that the Silver Sufer was this awesome guy that flew around on a surf board, but #1? As far as Superman is concerned, all his enemy has to do is bring a piece of kryptonite to the fight and he is toast. I could see Thor up there as he is sort of a God and all. I think the Hulk should be placed higher than # 10 though. The guy grows stronger the more he gets pissed off. What about Galactus? The Silver Sufers master. The guy eats planets, how bad ass is that? You could go all day deciding on this and you would conflict your opinions with others all day. I say just throw the Silver Sufer, Huk, Thor, Galctus, Superman, and Onslaught in a battle and see who is the victor. Shameless enough?
This one is easy.
Who’s the toughest???
MERMAID MAN AND BARNACLE BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This debate could go on for years ,like (the beyonder)
could snap his fingers and destroy the earth ,he had toobut be convinced to become a child ,so he would appreciate life then they killed him ! But you said super-hero so that means he has his own book so id say proff Xavier , could control the minds of anyone you name except juggernaught and magneto with the helmet on !and even then he could use anyone else against you!
Silver Surfer is the most powerful super hero in the universe? Who is Duplicate Boy anyway? As for Morph, her is just a good guy male version of Mystique, except without the scaly blue skin and skimpy clothing. The most powerful super hero of all time has to go to a two way tie between possibly the least discussed (and yet, ironically, most powerful) form of Spider-Man in his Captain Universe outfit and the guy who later became Captain Universe after Spider-Man relinquished said powers to that other guy. Why is Captain Universe so powerful? Well, as powerful as Silver Surfer, or villans like Apocalypse, Galactcus, Darkseid, Doomsday, Omega Shenron, and Queen Galaxia were in their respective realms, in a fight, Captain Universe would easily overpower them. You read me right, Captain Universe is THAT powerful. He is practically God. He can morph, he can have armor, the list goes on and on with his numerous powers and, by the way, there are possibly no weaknesses in his armor, well, except for when Spider-Man wore the suit and was hypersensitive to hearing things, but then again, that is because he was not the chosen one to wear the outfit ultimately anyway. The bottom line is Captain Universe is the most powerful super hero of all time.
I dont agree with any of those supper heros listed above
even though wonder woman is pretty tough i believe that the Pheonix (or jean grey) is the toughest because she can lift and move things with her mind and she has some mind control abilities
Toughest would be Superman, but there was a Spider-Man comic where Peter Parker was favored by several Gods and gained the ability to fly and some other powers as well. I just don’t know what Edition it was. Do you know?
Hulk would beat Superman only because Supes got the K weakness. Silver Surfer is really powerful but the FF movie made him weak but I think he is just an okay guy err alien. Wonder Woman ranks #2 in the DC Universe, behind Super Man. She is really strong and smart and sexy w/o even trying!! She has taken down Super Man before when Circe made him evil mixed with Doomsday but she also did get beat up but still won.
I think the most powerful super hero or kid for that matter would be Franklin Richards…kid has a lot of potential.
Dude, It would have to be batman armed to the teeth with Kryptonite tipped weapons (superman), a lightning rod (thor), some bear traps (hulk), Raid (spiderman), tin foil hat (prof X), some Hydrochloric Acid (silver surfer. Google HCL + AG), and he’d have at total advantage over duplicate boy. No powers to copy!!
Honestly the list of things batman could use against people is endless.
Despite all the other popular choices, I would put my money on The Phantom. He is/was an understated class act.
I wouldn’t say he’s the toughest or strongest, but I’d go with Dr. Manhattan. To be able to manipulate matter is pretty great, and he has duplicates!
I think you’d better stop this discussionand close the thread before Chuck Norris kills you all!
Duplicate Boy is the best, but Batman is the sexiest!
I think that Batman would win. He has fought against super-powered heroes and villains and found a way to defeat them a crap load of times. Duplicate Boy would be the easiest because he would have no super power to copy.
Doctor Who…
He can banish anyone or anything to wherever or make the “villain” use their own powers to destroy themselves.
Lopaka would beat them all hands-down, since his adventures always end with him alive…but then again, he’s not a “superhero”.
I would like to see just how big you could make the Hulk if you kept annoying him…perhaps the size of the Universe(s)?
I would say spidey would be up there with the top 10. I mean he has spider sense and he fought the hulk loads of time to a standstill. In one issue of spiderman I believe peter told MJ he could beat the Hulk but that would involve killing bruce. Doctor Strange has to be up there too!
supa man pown all hed throw the sun at ya
Ok everyone keeps going the wrong way with this one. The most powerful and the one who’d win in an all out brawl aren’t one in the same. The more powerful (physcially) a hero (or villian) is, the less likely they are to win in a fight. They rely solely on their power, and get tag teamed by others.
You can’t compare by looking at who beat whom in which comic. Most of the battles have been decided by biased writers or plot driven stupidity. Anyone who’s ever watched “HEROES” knows what PDS is. Everytime someone takes Sylar down, they don’t finish the job. That’s PDS.
The one who’d win in an all out brawl is the one with the most brains. MR. FANTASTIC. He stopped Galactus, He’d figured out how to synthesize Kryptonite, He could Hack the Iron Man suit. He can recreate the powers of other heroes with tecnnology. He’s smart enough to let the brawlers face off and take each other down, then join in and clean up.
Duplicate boy is just a lame idea. How many others have had similar abilites? Peter Petrelli, Sylar, Rogue, Mimic, the Skrull. Each and everytime these guys get too powerful, somethng takes them down to size.
i just really think that rouge is better than anyone. She can take other mutants/superheros power but one problem is that batman would whup her buttox.
Of course it would be Iron Man. Iron Man could easily make Kryptonite missles to destroy Superman and the hulk wouldn’t stand a chance against him. Its not really a superpower, so he could defeat duplicate boy, and he is human with actual human emotions, something the silver surfer would be jealous of and cause the silver surfer to have a weakness
I just thought of sumthing if leech vs. Rouge. Who would win??? THINK ABOUT IT
Slightly off topic. But for those of us who aren’t into comics, who is the comedian that pits
Samantha against Genie? I think Samantha wins hands down.
I am the greatest Superhero. Yeah, with da ladies. They love how Super Duper I am… Shwing.
Hmm IMO superheros shouldnt be ranked in strenght/superpower…because comercially speaking, the publics fave ALWAYS wins, its how they get the ratings/sellings up :] I mean, come on! superman.batman are totally the most famous superheros of all time and they will be forvever. They always find a way to win in the end =p Besides, ive never heard of this Duplicate boy and in this extraordinary world of make believe superheros he sounds pretty lame to me =P So i say, no matter the power the one that appeals to the public most always wins …xxx
The Dark Phoenix would destroy all if not most of them she could disinigrate all of them with a mere thought she plunged into the surface of the sun and fed off the energy in the sun explain how you would defeat the dark phoenix with batman he pretty much meets his match agains the phoenix
Magneto is up there also he can manipulate earth electromagnetic field
What about the fantastic 4?
i think pikachu’s great
I think rogue is the most powerful superhero because she can steal any mutants powers and she also has ms marvel powers.
The toughest superhero hasn’t passed the ‘Be the Toughest Superhero Contest’ yet. But, for those that wish to try, it’ll be the one that can break these cuffs!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQTXawaAKNA
Hiro Nakamura!!!
he can use his sword to kill anyone and never get caught because of his ability!!!
DUH!!!
well im not a big coics fan but i think either the silver surferor the punisher. i mean the guy is made of steel
Funny how no one mentioned the Ben 10. Oh wait is this exclusive to Marvel superheroes? Isn’t Ben already in the Marvel club? Or can I include Spongebob and the Power Puff Girls?
We all know Jean Grey would win. Maybe not herself alone but if she lets go of the Phoenix’s power then she can completely obliterate anybody. Physically or mentally. Everybody knows she killed Xavier in the 3rd X-men so she’s obviously the most powerful. As for superman? He’s just brute strength he wouldn’t stand a chance. The Phoenix doesn’t have a weakness but superman has one. It is within the Phoenix’s power to spontaneously create kryptonite if she wanted to.
Problem solved: Jean Grey/Phoenix wins.
umm? i think you guys forgot IRONMAN. He doesnt have super powers he made his powers he obviously the sdmartest of them all and the toughest. he obviously considered all factor of any super hero attack. iron man is the obvious choice
one word MORTAL KOMBAT!!!!! but being a super hero shuoldnt be a contest but for when it comes to greatest villians i would have to say hellboy or if not cris brown
I’m amazed Wonder Woman is not on the list. She is as indestructible and strong as Superman, and has basically all the same powers he does. But she also has unmatched martial arts abilities, and the mental strength that comes with that training (to keep Professor X out of her head)
Behold! I have cometh with the truth!
The Phoenix can burn anything with the power of the sun. Now who can withstand the heat of the sun?
Only one man and that is Dr. Manhattan.
He would be the strongest superhero ever and he is a class C hero from Watchmen. He can’t suffer damage nor does he age. He had no weakness.
heros, i dunno
villains? JOKER he always has a plan and is 5 steps ahead of everyone!
The Joker!!! he’s beast!
Duplicate boy? if this guy is so awesome why haven’t I heard of him? I wonder how he would stand up against Rogue? and Professor X wouldn’t need to come in contact with him to take him down. he could just make him kill himself from across the planet. and if you really think about it, what good is copying someone power anyway? sure it puts you at an even level with them powerwise, but it can’t duplicate any amount of skill with that power.
in the DC universe I’d have to go with Batman. sure he has no superpowers, other than his array of gadgetry, ninja training and superior intellect, but really that’s all he needs. without superpowers he is on par with superman himself. and with suits designed to take on other heroes there’s really not much that can stop him. he does have a bad habit of getting his stuff blown up though. Superman comes in a close second. if it weren’t for his allergy to Krytonite he’d be nigh invulnerable. Green Lantern is in third. while he power to manifest literally anything your mind can come up with is formidible, the fact that he could be taken down by a post-it is pretty lame.
in the Marvel Universe, it’s a much tougher call. first place is a toss up between Professer X and Phoenix. one the one hand Phoenix has near limitless power, with unstoppable telekenesis and mind control perhaps surpassing that of even the Professor himself. but on the other hand it was the Professor who imprisoned her inside Jean Grey’s mind to begin with. for third another toss up between Wolverine and Hulk. Wolverine has an adamantium skeleton, which can only be damaged by hitting it with great force using something else made of adamantium, and he has immenesly accelerated healing which allows him to instantly heal what little CAN hurt him. plus he occaisionly demonstrates somewhat of a resistance to mind control. however that skeleton of his makes him highly vulnerable to magnetism. Hulk is big, mean and green. we’re talking about a guy who uses a tank as a club! I’m not sure there’s a physical force in the the Marvel universe that can take him down. his draw back? his strength is fueled by raw emotion. the angrier he gets the longer he can keep it up. Mind control could quickly put an end to a rampaging Hulk.
between the two it’s worlds I’m going out on a LONG limb and saying Batman could come out on top. crossing the worlds given him access to to technology from both and it wouldn’t be batman without the coolest gadgets I’m not saying give Batman Ironman’s suit. though that would be cool. but with access to things like adamantium, the Dark Knight becomes unstoppable.
Well, every super hero is created for different types of powers. No one is the best, some do other stuff and some do another power. They all equally have the same amount of power and energy.
None of you have boyfriends or girlfriends do you? It is shameful that you have so much time to devote to contemplating such things! Why don’t you spend this time to better yourself and the rest of the world – perhaps volunteering at your local food shelter. And we wonder why other countries call us stupid Americans.
i think charles xavier wins based on his ability to manipulate people’s thoughts and actions without their knowledge of his even doing so. although his power can be blocked through artificial means the guy can know what you’re doing at all times and just has to pick his moment.
my other top pick would have to the very underrated leech. anyone that comes in close proximity of him would have their power neutralized rendering them powerless. although leech could not physically over power them it’s still an incredibly powerful ability that could not be defended except by distance.
I believe Superman is the toughest. All of the heros and villians have a weakness. Kryptonite has been used time and time again against him and he seems to figure out a way to overcome it. Lex luther who happens to be one of the smarter villians can testify to that. Who among the good or the bad guys can beat Superman? No one honestly comes to mind.
Well superman is the obvious choice even with the weakness to kryptonite and magic.
The next most powerful superhero is got to be Silver Sufer.
But the most powerful superhero is Mr. Manhattan. This guy is like god incarnte.
the pope
I can’t say exactly who should be the Number One Toughest Superhero, mostly because my comic book knowlege isn’t that extensive (I know next to nothing about Thor and Silver Surfer) . So this is just my oppinion.
To me, being tough means going against all the odds and, well, pretty much go through and survive hell.
Superman is strong, and even though he can survive an atomic bomb I don’t think he’s all that tough because it’s just to easy for him, he doesn’t have to try.
I think Spiderman should be up there, along with Batman and Wolverine.
I’d say….obviously aquaman. I mean seriously, he can call fishes. That’s awesome. Superman would just lay down and die. SIlver Surfer….surfs. Aquaman would eat him with a shark.
i like superman and batman the best
they’re classic =)
superman.
-he can fly faster than the speed of light, so fast he warped the time-space continuum and travelled through time. flying alone is cool enough discounting the great speeds at which he can do it at
-even his eyeball is bullet proof!
-super uber duper strength. superman returns doesn’t even depict him at his strongest and he still managed to lift a whole continent out into space! under the effect of kryptonite!
-heat vision to blast team rocket off again
-he can see through anything except lead! DUDE!
-uber breath he can probably blow a hurricane if he wanted. hope he brushes his teeth twice a day or moe though =/
BAT MAN the GREEN LANTERN
Yhea,,Bat Man was given a Green Lantern power ring,
and he could beat anyone mentioned above with his new found power!
(Good question,keep’em coming!)
wolverine definitely. the only thing that can kill him is adamantium blade cutting off his head which he would never let happen
I can’t believe it got this far without someone mentioning the “Ultimate showdown of ultimate destiny” which shows clearly the ultimate super hero is Mr. Rodgers. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwBK31tC5QM
I saw several comments referring to smartest superhero = best superhero, but there were only mentioned batman and mr.fantastic. Don’t forget Spiderman, which fought many of his foes with his brains much more than with his spider-powers.
Besides that, what about the human torch? His nova flame (with around 1 million degrees fahrenheit) burns pretty much everything
I think deadpool, because he’s killer with swords and guns. He has the healing factor. and if worse comes to worse hecan teleport outta there.
The toughtest is definately Batman. He is also the smartest and basically would never lose a fight. Superman is not tough enough..Batman may be the best superhero ever created..Intelligent..tough..strong…and can easily beat those stronger than him
Professor X cannot be the greatest because he wouldn’t kill anyone. He doesn’t really believe in violence, and if there were a huge crossover brawl, I’m sure he would be sitting out. On the other hand, Thor has the powers of Asgard behind him. But there are also other gods that people can access their powers (Valkyrie, anyone?). Wolverine couldn’t work because even though he has an adamantium skeleton and a great healing power, he has a carbonadium weakness and he can die if injured badly enough. While Hulk gets stronger as he gets angrier, he isn’t the brightest hero in the bunch. His anger usually clouds his better judgement. I think that Scarlet Witch would do some damage. She is extremely powerful but also psychotic. In a full out brawl, I think that no one would come out on top. They all have there match somewhere, so I think this question gets too opinionated answers. They would all kick each others butts.
I personally believe hulk would win… his power is basically limitless, and the bigger he gets, the more impervious to pain and damage he would be… duplicate boy sounds like a decent match, but i almost feel his power is kinda cheap, no offense meant…
Goku from Dragon ball z.
He can destroy a whole planet in 10 seconds.Teleport anywhere in the universe in just seconds.
He is a lot stronger than the gods.
He can fly, super ultra speed, super ultra strength and ultra super reflexes and many others.
He can beat anyone If he can’t he can just blow the planet and teleport to another planet in just 10 seconds.
i love your blog
I would think that Dr. Manhattan is the greatest. Really, he’s like a higher level of superhero. Not only can he basically manipulate worlds on a whim, but he can also demonstrate no restraint (like most supervillains) because he lacks emotion.
I’m sorry but who can say that Dr. Manhattan isn’t the best. How do you kill something that can affect time? His powers let him blow up anything at will. Also, he is indestructible. Basically he is beast.
When contemplating toughest super hereo I would have to vote for the Rouge. The rational behind this is that she can aquire the powers of anyone she comes in contact with. Therefore she could easily over come any adversary by aquiring their powers.
Guys, don’t be stupid…
First of all, great, hulk gets stronger as he gets more angry, that’s all splendid, but all superman needs is one-two punch/es to knockout the hulk as illustrated when they fought in a Marvel/DC crossover. Are we forgetting that superman and hulk are around the same strength, yes, but superman is faster than all of hell?
Silver surfer comes out on top… whoever said something about batman, spiderman, and wolverine being up there… very very wrong.
Surfer, despite that I don’t like him, can rearrange your molecules. Surfer could turn Thor into wood and superman into kryptonite…
I don’t care what people say about Thor’s magic… Superman would rock him. Thor doesn’t punch at the speed of light, sure, his “magical hammer jdirkdirk” could rock supes, but thats if hes still conscious after taking 1000+ punches to the face by superman. In the Ultimate universe, hulk kicks the entire Avengers balls, including Thor… so you’d think if Hulk’s punches hurt thor, then Superman’s would just as much, but at a greater rate because there are hundreds of them in a second if he wanted to.
Superman gets second. Thor gets third…
“Why don’t you spend this time to better yourself and the rest of the world – perhaps volunteering at your local food shelter. And we wonder why other countries call us stupid Americans.”
And yet you have the time to come here and gripe. Hmmmmmmm, bit of a double standard there?
So you’re IMMATURE IF YOU PLAY VIDEOGAMES OR SOMETHING?
GODzilla. hahahaha
JEAN GREY, aka the Pheonix. A telepath with telekinisis, people come on the others could never get near her. Thors’ lightning bolts-lightning rods all around, Superman-psionic blast, Silver Surfer-separate the being from the board, Hulk-HELLO TELEKINISIS! With Cerebro she can find you from half a world away and ppttt you’re dead.
Many people posting are not reading the header. The Beyonder was not a superhero – just a super being, the living intelligence of another universe. Molecule Man is essentially the same – very powerful but not a superhero. For superheroes I would have to say my top 5 are: 1.) Silver Surfer 2.) Thor 3.) Superman 4. Martian Manhunter 5.) Hulk. Although there are arguably more tough superheroes these are the ones you don’t want to square off against.
The thing to consider about Superman is what is mentioned in Kingdom Come. “He’s been soaking up the Sun for so long, Kryptonite doesn’t even affect him anymore.”
So I think Superman and the Hulk might stalemate eventually. I think Superman’s ability to fly really really fast might be what sets him apart. Sure, the Hulk can basically fly by jumping, but not at super sonic speeds.
Oh, and the Silver Surfer? The Hulk beat him in Planet Hulk.
Oh, and wasn’t Shazam! (DC’s Captain Marvel) able to subdue Superman in Kingdom Come? ((Shazam eventually lost, though))
oh!
What about Dr. Manhatten?
I think Obama is the greatest superhero ever
I think it would be Galactus because he has the silver surfer as his minion
WHEN ARE Y’ALL KNUCKLEHEADS GOING TO REALIZE THE WOLVERINE IZZ THE TOUGHEST SUPERHERO
&&WHOEVER SAID THE HULK IS A DOUCHE HE IS JUST A BIG GRREN THING…..
ANY WAYS THE WOLVERINE HAD METAL NEEDLES GOING THROUGH ALL OF THE NERVOUSE AREAS IN HIS BODY AND HIS BONES ARE MADE OF THE STORNGEST METAL COMPOUND NOT KNOW TO MAN SO WOLVERINE ON DECK GET AT ME
Dr. Manhattan can do pretty much anything and seems incapable of being destroyed (if he ever is, he just re-assembles himself, being made of energy and all). So, I guess he could pretty much wreck any other super hero.
No disrespect to Superman but how would of Superman defeated Majin-Buu?!
Goku from DBZ can kick superman’s little girly ass without transforming into a Super-Saiyan.
as a kid he goes through countless trainers and battles hundreds of villains. pretty much none of the other SO-CALL super HEROES, trained themselves for battle. Goku was already the strongest, but he took it up to the next level and became stronger in every way possible, agility, mentally, physically, strategically. So yeah, he’s definitely the toughest!!!
Duplicate Boy would of gotten his ass kicked by Goku’s instant transmission. (instant movement or teleportation) before he got the chance to use his power.
And… he was too pure hearted, so Professor X wouldn’t of been able to get inside his mind.
the hulk cuz the avengers got destroyed by him, thor was mega raped, wolverine was just a joke, aliens cant even defeat him, i bet superman can’t even match up
um….Underdog?
Captain Marvel ( when he had that spartan-type helmet and was insane from his omnipotence). He manipulates every particle of the Multiverse to any way he chooses. Plus he had a gun that disintegrated everything. Or Chuck Norris.
The Beyonder
used his powers to take complete control of every mind, and, in fact, every atom of matter on Earth.
Bat Man would beat Superman since in Justice League Superman gave him Kryptonite.
Duplicate boy is simply a way that poster used to get some talk.. plus he doesnt even exist anymore – crisis took him out. (I say put him in a paper sack – problem solved)
The problem with the lists is the definition of a hero – Marvel’s Eternity or any of DC’s endless would end a fight with a thought.
Thor is close to that line, this is why he tops most lists. Interesting no one mentioned Dr. Strange as yet – however my vote goes to intelligence.
Reed Richards – scared galactus away single handedly in his first encounter, studied the cosmic cube and to make him scarier – has in his possession the most powerful of the infinity gems.
Superman, super strength, laser eyes, only weakness a freakin stone from space, impervious, the hulk isn’t impervious, doesn’t have laser eyes, and has limited power/
What you fail to realize is that the writer does what is in the best interest of the story. When convenient, Superman is beaten. Otherwise Superman prevails. Likewise with the Hulk, Silver Surfer and others. The writer does what is convenient. Originally Superman could not fly. Today he takes on nuclear weapons. The Hulk has always gotten stronger with emotion…not just anger. No one has ever tried to find the limit. Once the Hulk is beaten by a snake. Another time the Hulk survives nuclear blasts. It’s all a matter of convenience.
me
toughest superhero goes by the name of Goku.
Everyone thinks Superman s the obvious choice because he was almost the 1st superhero. Batman is the world best millitant. Personally, I have to go with either Beast, from X-men, or Iron Man. Both are complete Geniuses and Beast is like a smart Hulk and Iron Man has about as many missles as the Army has combined. Between the my top three go Iron Man, Beast, and The Thing from Fantas. 4
I just bought the game PROTOTYPE. Alex Mercer would absorb superman, batman, then beat the crap out the rest and that is a fact.
Deadpool is the shit could totally take out everyone
Kamen Rider Decade.
He has all the Heisei Era Riders’ powers, and is bound to have Showa Era Riders’ powers in the new movie.
Well Chuck Norris would obviously own all these guys =P…but if you want a super hero, you cant go wrong with Superman. Hes the total package
To everyone saying the Hulk would be the most powerful do to his powers being controlled by anger, may I just make one mention of the Red Lantern Corps?
Exactly like the Green Lantern when it comes to power but their rings are powered by anger, the angrier they get the more powerful their constructs are.
Some would argue that they aren’t superheros but at one point they (some) were part of the Green Lantern Corps. So, again we’ll bring the Green Lanterns in on it, the ring is powered (aside from the actual power source) by sheer willpower. And after the mess with Phallax even the yellow impurity in the rings could be overcome making the power ring the most powerful force in the multiverse.
Thus, the Green Lantern whose power is only limited to his/her imagination and willpower would be the most powerful, maybe not physical but they could stop Superman or the Hulk in their tracks.
What about the Invisible Man? No one can see from where his attack is coming from. However, I do like Batman because of his brains and the fact that he relies on his human strength and Bat-Belt.
what happened to goku from Dragon Ball Z >_<
I heard that Batman always keeps Kryptonite in his utility belt at all times. If this is true or not, I don’t know. BUT if he does, he could always beat Superman. I think that Nightcrawler is one of the most powerful. I mean, he can teleport anywhere he wants, at any time. He could be fighting you and then teleport you off a cliff or into space if he feels like it. Think of it: Nightcrawler could just teleport Superman to a place filled with Kryptonite and then beat him there. PLUS he’s really cool.
Batman can’t hit him. I’m not sure how the prof’s power’s work, but I’m pretty sure he can’t read someone’s mind when they keep teleporting around.
My suggestion: Nightcrawler.
Personally, I gotta go with Batman. I mean, all those other guys have to use powers and such to save the day. He does it with brains and brawn. No laser vision or super strength. Just a few gadgets.
Where I got PHallax I don’t know…. I meant Parallax. Also, to refute arguements about Superman beating a member of the Green Lantern Corps that could not happen, seeing as the power ring can create a forcefield with a pseudo-kryptonite effect.
Get back to the basics, people. You’ve forgotten from whence ye came. Superman only has one worthy opponent – Captain Marvel. ( And who is Dupe Boy? – get real.) By the way, the THING could fight the Hulk to a standstill any day of the week. Everyone knows that. I grew up in the 70′s watching the 2 of them “get it on” in my favorite comics and you could never tell who was winning, because they were, and are, evenly matched. As are Superman and Captain Marvel, who are in a rank above all others.
Cheers, however, to those who chose super-villain, Galactus. Truth told, I’m not sure if even Godzilla to beat him. Maybe Hercule’s dad, Odin, though.
Naturally, it goes without saying that if Underdog shows up, EVERYONE is roadkill.
The paladin from diablo2.
He can teleport instantly.
He has auras that can make him immune to elements, heal, reduce enemys elemental resistance, do more damage and become faster.
He has holy powers like calling thunder from heaven down upon his enemys. He can also cast magical hammers that do 15k damage!
His smite is unblockable.
The aura glitched merc can take out most for him.
Clearly the paladin from diablo2 would win.
It’s impossible to say, really. Superman could punch Magneto’s lights out, but Xavier(who can’t really beat Magneto) Could take down Superman with a thought. Rock Paper Scissors, really.
In reality though, I’d have to say the best and greatest supe’ ever is: Jesus. He loves you.
well though i never heard of him duplicat boy would be the most powerful, superman is invincible except for kryptonite, but clearly above duplicate boy can duplicate any*power* not flaw so if he duplicates superman he is clearly the best EVER!!!
Thanos, with the infinity gauntlet has the most power
of any superhero or villian, yo.
I Think That Invisible Woman (Fantastic 4) Is The Best Superhero Simple Because 1 Thing, She Can Go Invisible. Therefore If No One Can See Her Then She Could Just Kick The Crap Into Them. Never Heard Of Duplicit Boy. Thanks. Dont Give Me Stick For My Opinion After All It Doesn’t Matter In Reality.
Superman is the best for the sole reason that he can not be killed while he is under our sun.
yo? do you think those super heroes are a match for BATMAN…..nonsense…you know all super heroes has a weakness but BATMAN does no have a weakness if BATMAN has then state it
if you disagree we can have a debate ^_^
Gogetta SS4 hands down
How about the friendly neighbourhood Spiderman???hehe…:)
Hey, Mike!
Well, I’d have to go with Hancock for some reason.
VISION is the toughest superhero of all. That’s an easy one!
Duplicate boy sounds pretty strong, but isn’t he just like Rogue of the X-Men? Furthermore, its says he must come in contact to get their powers, what if they remain at a distance? Then he’s powerless.
I would say the Hulk (physically), because according to Wikipedia, his strength (possibly) knows no bounds, and Nathan Grey of then X-Men, as his power rivals the “Pheonix”, another mutant (can she be considered a superhero?)
I also forgot to mention Batman, who relies on his intelligence to win his battles, not superhuman abilities.
Mr.Rodgers would win! Haven’t you guys ever the Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny?
I would have to say Dragon Ball Z’s Son Goku –> Super Saiyan –> Super Saiyan 2 –> Super Saiyan 3 –> Super Saiyan 4 –> Oozaru –> Golden Oozaru…I’m sure it wouldn’t have stopped there is they were still making the show.
As someone said earlier he can destroy planets in minutes…and teleport. What use is super strength (Hulk and co.) and super speed (Superman and co.) if by the time you get to him he’s teleported away?
And unlike most super heroes Goku has a lot of long ranged attacks. If he keeps teleporting and blasting you with kamehamehas from a distance there’s nothing you can do. Superman may prove to be a strong adversary but think about it, anything Superman can do, Goku can do…except x-ray vision and that’s not gonna help him much.
…
Only Mickey Mouse can defeat Goku!
ooo, forgot to mention the kryptonite!! Goku has no weaknesses!!
Batman, hands down! He’s beaten the best of the best before, and he does it without superpowers!
This is stupid. It’s obviously Goku
Superman is just stupid, in my opinion. He has super strength, speed, x-ray vision, heat vision, super “blowing” powers i guess?, can fly, is impervious to pain, and the only thing that could possibly even hurt him is a space rock! YET, he manages to be beaten many a time.
Superman then the Hulk. Superman has a weakness but all heros do.
super sayian 4 gogeta xD
superman sucks
Everybody knows Underdog is omnipotent. Just ask Simon Bar Sinister.
Dr. Manhattan is the toughest (undefeatable) superhero of all time for sure.
hey, why didn’t any of those lists mention deadpool or wolverine?! they can’t die because of that nifty ol’ healing factor, so wouldn’t that make them the “toughest”? and in deadpools mag he definately beat the hulk in order to secure some of his blood. besides…. superman is just gay. whoever thought of superman must not have had much of an imagination. “oh, lets just make some guy completely invinsible. oh wait, we need to give him one weakness at least so there can be some plotlines… hmm…”
It’s far too long to read everything, so I don’t know if anyone mentioned him, but how about Captain Marvel? I haven’t read all of the comics, but I think he’s got all the powers. His only real weakness is that he has to recharge every day or something.
Also, how about Jackie Chan and his talismans from Jackie Chan adventures? With all his powers, and his smartness, he’s unstoppable. haha.
Oh wait. Claire the cheerleader. You did say “heroes” right?
Actually, how about Doomsday? I think I recall doomsday eventually came by to help superman. And superman never really defeated him. Just knocked him out temporarily.
Well Superman is a NO GO, because …Doomsday pretty much ended it for the pretty boy! The hulk is The toughest, but he is as dumb as a brick, so for power and intelligence (which you need to go with that power, my money is on Silver Surfer:
The Silver Surfer wields the Power Cosmic, granting him superhuman strength, stamina, durability, and the ability to absorb and manipulate the universe’s ambient energy for a variety of effects. The Surfer can navigate through interstellar space, dimensional barriers, and hyperspace, which he can enter to exceed the speed of light when flying on his board, and has even proven capable of time travel on several occasions.
The Surfer sustains himself by converting matter into energy, does not require food, water, air, or sleep, and can survive within nearly any known natural environment, including deep space, hyperspace, and even within black holes and stars. The Surfer can analyze and manipulate matter and energy, and molecularly restructure or animate matter at will, even transmuting elements or creating objects. He can also project energy in various forms for offensive and defensive use, including the erection of force shields, and bolts of cosmic force powerful enough to destroy entire planets and planetoids. He can utilize the Power Cosmic to augment his superhuman strength to indeterminate levels. The Surfer can heal living organisms, though he cannot raise the dead, and he has proven capable of revitalizing and evolving organic life on a planet-wide scale. He can alter the size of himself or of other matter, cast illusions, and phase through solid matter.
His senses enable him to detect objects and concentrations of energy light years away and to perceive matter and energy in subatomic detail, including life energies of living beings. The Surfer can even see through time, and with concentration he can achieve limited perception of past and future events in his general vicinity. He has demonstrated telepathic ability, including mind-reading on occasion, and has proven to be able to influence human emotion and sensation.
The Surfer’s board is composed of a nearly impervious, cosmically powered silvery material that is similar to his own skin. The board is mentally linked to the Surfer and moves in response to his mental commands even when he is not in physical contact with it. The board has a high degree of indestructibility, but on those rare occasions when it is damaged or destroyed, the Surfer is able to repair or even re-create it with little effort. The Surfer can attack opponents remotely by directing the board against them, and the board is capable of absorbing and imprisoning other beings, at least temporarily.
When Galactus exiled the Surfer to Earth, his means of imprisonment was linked to the board. When Surfer and the Fantastic Four realized this, Surfer put it to the test by leaving the board planet-side and entering space in the Four’s spacecraft. Once he was free of Earth, the Surfer remotely converted the board to energy, recalled it to him, and reformed it in space.
Norrin Radd also possesses some knowledge of the advanced alien technology of the planet Zenn-La.
and before some moron says something about Galactus, HE IS NOT A SUPERHERO..he is more like a cosmos unto himself. So he cant be classified as a superhero, it would be like saying GOD was a superhero. it sort of the same thing, only GOD being everything and everywhere, and galactus being a small part of the everywhere
Intereting that the majority of replies have completely confused the ability to dominate with toughness.
It obviously says something about their mental state.
Super HERO.
Toughest
Lets set up a thought experiment battery of tests
Test 1. The superhero is exposed to the substance, condition, environment, or circumstance which is now known to be most debilitating. (eg Superman would be encased in Green Kryptonite under a Red sun, for Hulk he is simply taken to a nice park with his gf and allowed to be happy and calm and then Bruce Banner is decapitated – sorry I haven’t kept up on the current story line – does he ever turn off, etc.). Survivors of all attempts to end their existence pass.
Test 2. SuperHero is suddenly and unexpectedly teleported into the core of the Sun. The telportation
is his or her body only. No equipment.
Some superheroes can not be teleported or can not be surprised or can not be stripped of their equipment. They are disqualified for cheating.
After the 3 – 7 billion years it will take for the Sun to go supernova, the survivors are judged to have passed the 2nd Test
Test 3. SuperHero, again sans paraphenalia is tossed into a black hole. returning from the B/H. is a pass.
Test 4. SuperHero is sent back in time before the big bang, again sans equipment. returning to the present witout help constitutes a pass.
Test 5. Everybody is mentally convinced that the SuperHero is the vilest, evilest monster that ever existed or ever will exist. SuperHeroes who after several centuries of this still continue to save people’s lives and do good deeds pass.
Test 6. Every limb is amputated, superhero is immobilized and left with only one sense (sense of touch, say) and is injected with toxins which makes every nerve in his/her body scream with pain indefinitely. Test 5 is repeated.
The winner?
Casper the Friendly ghost.
Wonder Woman. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward.
I agree with the Batman group. all these other yahoos are just mutants of some sort, or visitors from another planet. Those bad guys from Krypton totally cleaned Superman’s clock.
Batman is just an ordinary human who works out, and uses his human skills and human intelligence to defeat criminals. He has got to be the toughest, thiough I do sometimes wonder about his relationship with the Boy Wonder.
After that, Wonder Woman is pretty awesome, and the girl from the old fantastic four was pretty cool also.
And, please let us not forget the Guvernator. Not sure exactly what his super powers are, but he managed to get elected, and he convinced millions of people all over the world to watch the movie Red Sonjia. That has to count for something, even if Wonder Woman is better looking.
Obviously Batman is the strongest for one reason. He defeated Superman. If a mere mortal can defeat an alien from another planet that can go back in time, he can beat anyone. And I would like to see how anyone can argue with that.
I would absolutely have to say the Flash. Super Speed actually is THE BEST and most versatile super power there is. Any incarnation of the Flash can move, think, speak, and react faster than the speed of light. He can vibrate his molescules so fast he can pass through solid matter. So, if the Hulk or other Power house comic book character tried to hit him or grab and hold him, he wouldn’t even have to use his speed, he could just stand there and vibrate while they pound away at his hollogram like image or vibrate through who ever is holding him. He can obtain vasts amount of knowledge by speed reading, meaning he can basically learn to do anything in a short amount of time. The Flash and other speedsters can speed talk to each other. And in one case I think it was one of the Kid Flash’s that created a sonic boom with just his voice. Flash actually has strength that rivals that of Juggernaut, once he’s in motion he can’t be stopped. Superman couldn’t even stop him if he wanted to. He has an aura around his body that protects him from the intense friction of his super speed. So, if he was to grab someone and just run with them over his shoulder, they would be fried to a crisp or dropped into another dimension. He moves so fast he can basically be invisible (Self explanitory). That’s just a few things that can be done with super speed. But if the Flash was smart enough to start using gadgets and other technology, he could without a doubt defeat any other comic book character that is within reason. I’m not talking about those comic book characters that just say freaking hocus pocus and then every superhero is dead. Or anyone like Dr. Manhattan or Silver Surfer that can control quantum mechanics. I’m talking about super beings that are relatively probable. You know super strength, speed, fire, ice, etc… By the way, if I had super speed I would have some kind of memory cloth like batman has attached to my back so I could just run, lift my feet off the ground, and there you go I’m air born flying at mach 5. I know that the Flash’s speed only applies when he runs, but I would imagine that if I were to run at light speed then get air born with a memory cloth glider, I would be at least flying at mach 5. Even though I wouldn’t be able to fly as fast as Superman, I would still be the fastest man in the world. I’m telling you super speed is the best power. SPEEDERS FTW!!! [][][]::::::=========>>>>>>>>>>>>————–That was my interepretation of speeding off, lol.
I think Superman would win, because even though he has the weakness of Kryptonite, he’s smart enough to get out of any situation. He’s smart and stong, and he only does whats right, so thats what makes him the greatest Hero.
i agree, the paladin from d2 is freakin insane. superman would have no chance once a few hammers flew through his chest.
duplicate boy would suck – he wouldnt know how to use his powers as well as the person he copied them from. the best he could hope for is ties
i got halfway through the comments, hoping no one would mention Mr. Rogers.. but sadly i cannot be original and quote the Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny
MR. ROGERS!!!!!!!!!
give the Hulk a Red Lantern ring.. see what happens!
BATMAN (duh)
BATMAN: is my choice
it would have to be a heroe who wouldn’t need suroudings to win and no weakness.i would honestly say batman. he carries kryptonyte just for superman and he would outhing and then in a checkmate fashion, overpower his oppnent.
captain marval
huh ? why didnt know one say The Flash ?? superman is given to much credit they made superman seem like he can out run him but we all know flash is way faster . if superman was that fast flash powers would be pointless … when it come to a fight its about two mean things SPEED and defense . the hulk ?? lol professor x can control him . plus just kill him while hes human .
i would think wolverine, because he is brutal, and tough, indestructible adamantium skeleton, can quickly heal from any wound, disease or toxin, super enhanced psychically athletic attributes, claws that can rip through anything (and combined with his temper, they can do a lot of damage), cant forget his super sharp animal senses.. if adamantium can get through superman’s tough skin, then wolverine would definately be top dog
DARTH REVAN KICK EVERYBODY ASS
The Martian Manhunter has been deemed stronger than Superman, in many of the JLA comics, and has the telepathic abilities of Xavier. It’s hard to beat someone who know your attack plan.
Batman; however, is surely a contender. He has been known to carry kryptonite in his utility belt and in one comic had a sensor which picked up on super dense material. He is the without a doubt the greatest strategist of all superheros. Mr. Fantastic may be a genius but that doesn’t always mean that he plans ahead or is willing to be as ruthless as the Batman can be.
As far as the Hulk goes if other super heroes go toe-to-toe with him he might win but telepaths would just calm him down. Superman could just avoid him until the Hulk became frustrated and gave up. He seemed to do that a lot when he was stupid. I’m not sure how Batman would handle him but I think Batman would find Hulk an eassssy advisary to handle.
The Silver Surfer is a different can of beans. A being that can manipulate energy is always someone to take seriously, but his passive nature keeps him from reaching his full potental.
A long time ago they did have a comic where the Marvel comics strongest heroes had to fight the Chamipion and the one that came the closest was the Thing, Benjamin Grimm. Not a chance, strictly a brawler and the Hulk could take him in that arena.
That just leaves the Molcule Man, maybe not a super hero, he might have trouble with telepaths but not much else.
My vote THE MARTIAN MANHUNTER.
All bias aside, Wolverine. Think of a way to kill Wolverine. It’s not possible. Cut off his head? His spine is made of adamantium, good luck. Chop him in two? Nope. Rip the flesh from his bones? It’s been tried.
I hate Wolverine, but he’s so poorly written that he’s practically immortal.
Basically, I would say that Batman would win.
While he has a more realistic and less useful power than anyone else, he has compiled weaknesses of all Superheroes ever.
However, his archenemy Prometheus, who is not technichally a hero, but instead a villian, is equally tough.
His supersuit allows him to download powers, giving him an edge over all others. He only loses to Batman by sheer lack of incredible tact.
Hulk, is in my opinion, very weak. A bit of sedative, and our friend Hulk really isn’t that angry.
Superman would win, as he practically unbeatable, except for the invention of Kryptonite Bullets.
Call me whatever you want, but I think Super Mario claims that spot. He can beat large, intelligent turtles, a robot (Smithy), the queen of shadows (Paper Mario 2), himself (Shadow Mario), his brother (Mr. L is Luigi hypnotized in Super Paper Mario) and massive invincible jesters (Super Dimentio in Super Paper Mario). He even prevented the end of the universe in Super Mario Galaxy and the end of all universes in Super Paper Mario.
Once again, say whatever you want to be. Lucky I won’t be here anymore.
Chuck Norris
ermm…i must say, your all missing the point completely
its obvious the homer simpson is the best superhero of all time, no one could beat him in a fight
I’ve never heard of Duplicate Boy either but he sounds the best if he copies his enemy’s power.
I also agree Jesus is the best.He is the only real one, anyway.
I wonder who would win:Mega Mario or King Kong?
LOL….
My 4 year old son just recently started this type of thinking. As far as he got is that Spiderman would beat up Batman, but Superman would beat up Spiderman.
But I’m always rooting for Thor to win in an all out battle.
if you read the marvel vs dc comic you might find the answer your looking for
green lantern, they are all based on will and all super heroes must have will power to do anything.
Hawk Girl, fa sho!
You may disagree but The Incredible Hulk comes to my mind. Think of it, strentgh, speed, agility, regeneration all into one combined with rage and emotion make the toughest suerhero and he cannot lose to any superhero even superman.
Well even though duplicate boy can acquire any power, most likely he would gain the weakness as well. So therefore I would say that Silver Surfer is the strongest with Thor in number two. Hulk is probably third due to Silver Surfer simply changing matter on the Hulk which could probably kill him. And I am pretty sure cosmic power may beat magical powers on Thor.
QUAIL MAN IS THE TOUGHEST
hes from Doug for those of you who dont recall…
Silver Surfer can definitley own anyone. His powers can basically rearrange molecules (take away powers) and turn anything into anything else.
People who say Wolverine is the toughest, c’mon! Remember when Magneto pulled out his adamantium? He could do that, too. Hell, he could fight Superman, turn the sun red (another of Superman’s weakness) and beat the hell outta him.
Well if someone hasnt stated it already…didnt feel like reading all the comments…I would think Apocalypse would be the most powerful comic book character, i mean the names a dead give away
that is nice to here
thanks for
posting this
and taking ur time
to type
it out
thankies
Wolverine would probably be the #1 Super Hero, though he isn’t necessarily the “Hero” type.
He has super advanced and accelerated healing abilities, and because of this it puts him ahead of all the others with special powers. He is pretty much invincible to a certain point.
In the real world though, Batman would be the best so far because he is the only super hero with no powers and in a point in time it could be possible that he could be a real life character.
Are you nuts? Its THE BATMAN baby. He Could bust Stupidman in a second.
consider this…
Batman lines the Cave w/ lead, sets up radio frequency beacon of his heartbeat, wears device that masks his own heartbeat, Superman comes crashing into the cave at the Speed
of light, Stops to look for Batman, then realizes he is in a huge room filled w/ regular old Green Kryptonite. Batman emerges from small pocket dimension he is hiding in, presses button on a remote and room closes into holding cell, Superman dies slowly.
Nova Prime.
Dark Phoenix, on both sheer power and looks.
Powdered Toast Man
Wonder woman would have them all p-whooped in no time…..she’s bad.
THE mOST POWER SUPERHERO YOU SAY?!?!? WELL THAT IS ME OF COURSE!!!!!!!!!
Strongest is not superman. If any day, Archan can kick even Galactus in the but! Nobody seen what he looks like! If he sees someone, he gains twice as much of their power. If they see what Archan looks like they go blind. And affically their brain melts. So they die. Even if they are no longer in view, he keeps their powers forever and ever. If he sees the same person again, he gains more of their power. He also has the power, if he dies, the killer will lose their soul and he will come back exactly how he was in power but in their body!
what about dead pool, he cant regenerate missing limbs, and he is very skilled and funny to
Easy. Supergirl. She ha Superman’s strength and she’s hot. She could manipulate any villailn to put the Krypto away easy. Supergirl has two things going for her. She’s got superman’s power and something that brings all men, bad and good, to their knees. Nice boobs.
The Dark Phoenix. She can destroy all of humanity with a single thought. Now that’s POWER!
Duplicate Boy – Hmmm, how old is he?
Years ago, before Marvel Comics Revamped all their characters. There was this one mutant, called Rogue. This character was a girl, and mighty cute one at that.
Anyway, her talent was also dupication as well, all she had to do was touch another super person, and she could dupicate their power. Unfortunately her special ability also had a snag; if she held onto any individual for too long a time. She would completely absorbe the individual’s super abilities. Thus rendering the orginal super power holder effectively a mere mortal with no abilities at all.
When ever I come across that question, & happen to have the time to answer, I will put in my two cents. If the asker thinks it through, they would agree. However, if they simply didn’t care in the first place & only had a favorite before hand regardless of the evidence. They will pick their favorite.
Even if they are wrong.
cheers baby
have a pleasant day.
PS if you really dig hot girl super heros,
Image comics had a run of Rouge & witchblade at one time, any way nuff said.
Have you people and all these articles forgotten Deadpool? #1 hands down. Good night.
Ugh Geeawd all you people saying Superman stop…
BATMAN is SOOO MUCH BETTER!
He doesn’t have any powers what so ever, he’s crazy smart, and if you’re going to say that’s because he’s rich…this is true. Even though, do not forget Batman has a motive to fight for what is right, loosing his parents due to a criminal and all. Not only that but his symbol is a freaking BAT! How rad is that, not to mention the utility belt and such great gadgets that come along with his cape and cowl. He also has a great sidekick, all three Robins are amazing throughout the strip! AND HIS VILLIANS are all amazingly off the whack, every single one has got an amazing story that explains why they are the way they are and what would Batman be without his villians?! Well…he’d still be amazing, but ya know. I love him so much!
Q of star treck fame. Tho I don’t know how your classifying “Super Hero” He certainly has the power to whip arse on all those other guys. Or Hero from Hero’s, stoping time.. pretty cool stuff. How do you beat that?
Well i think that the best is the FLASH his the fastest. If he were to go against superman he would probably make him dizzy. Even the hulk. The hulk has a chance but still the Flash can take anyone on.
Obviously, he’s not what most people think of when asked about super heroes, but Goku from Dragonball, Dragonball Z, and Dragonball GT is without doubt the strongest super hero ever. Whether or not he counts in debatable since he never appeared in any traditional American comics, but he was in a comic book style series, and he was a hero that saved the world tons of times. If he counts, he wins.
ok, you all seem to be forgetting that charles xavier was killed, remember? by phoenix? and wolverine will get owned by magneto, hulk can be killed as well as bruce banner, no chance for hulk smash there, i dont really have any idea who the strongest would be but i felt like proving some of you wrong, ta ta,
Hulk at number 10 while Thor among the big 3? Can’t believe it! Have they forgotten that Hulk have beaten Thor twice!?
come on…idk about u guys….the best superheroe would dfnitely not be superman!!!not hulk!!! not wolverine!!!…SS would come close..but….LUCIFER can create and destroy omniverse with a sway of its palm!!!!! cmon….omniverse is a collection of universe!!
and in case…LUCIFER aint a superhero….The Flash dude….he got tht maxed out perticle disrupting punch tht he can launch faster thn light …..he could take out Hulk,Superman,SS,Thor,Wolverine in one hit in less thn a nanosecond….
Galactus is pretty powerful….
one more to teach
Superman-Prime…is no punk…
compared to golden age superman
his more thn tht….
he can fly faster thn light…he can rip fabric of space and time and time travel..he can even collect pockets of time to create his own dimensions!
he can push the solar system!!!
and his strength come from his aura in where he can make evything else as heavy as 100000 ton light as feather!!
and he can survive 10 atomic bomb unscathed!!
he can even travel to different dimensions!!
he can launch 1000 punch in a scnd!!
one of those punch could make the arizona crater!!
He can see too particles level…!
super hearing!!
and in his dimensions krypton never blew and so he does not have weaknessess to kryptonite(which is inexistent)
one more to teach…
this is a supervillain…
Monarch has the powers of flight, teleportation, vastly powerful energy projection, vast superhuman strength, invulnerability, awareness, manipulation of the quantum field, the ability to access other realities in the multiverse and extreme energy absorption capabilities. So far the only people that have ever been able to injure Monarch are the Earth-16 Chris Kent (who died after performing such a massive attack) and Superman-Prime. After absorbing Major Force and every version of Captain Atom in the multiverse, Monarch’s powers are perhaps one of strongest to ever be seen in the DC universe. He was able to beat three versions of Superman and Wonder Woman at one time in Countdown: Arena with one blow, go toe to toe with a Guardian charged Superboy-Prime, incinerate Lobo (who is nearly as strong as Superman) and defeat all of his counterparts, with ease, within a few minutes
If I had to choose the toughest superhero, I’d would have to pick Superman. Although Superman is weak to Kryptonite, I cannot think of any time when Superman has lost a fight. Maybe its cause the writers don’t want to end his story? Or perhaps its because Kryptonite is rare in the comic book world and its not often someone gets ahold of it. Because of this, chances of weakening Superman is low. On top of that, super HEROES typically won’t use a handicap in fighting an opponent, and will fight each other with both at full strength. I don’t know alot about comic books, but from what I DO know, Superman will always be coming out on top. Plus Superman always kicks my ass in Mortal Kombat, so he’s gotta be good. :p
Right =
Wolverine was obliterated in an alternate universe by that universes equivalent of Thor. All that was left the skeleton.
In Quasar 50, Quasar battles the Silver Surfer, given that the Quantum bands simple feed on the Surfers power and send it back to him there’s no way he can win. However, Quasar realises he is championing the wrong side and lets himself get beaten.
I think Superman is far far stronger than many people here give him credit for and he has a far greater variety of powers than the hulk. Although in recent times the Hulk has been made ridiculously powerful. He doesn’t need to breath for example. He still can’t fly though and is relatively slow. I also suspect he would be hugely vulnerable to psychic attack given his all so unstable mental state.
Has anyone mentioned Nova?
goku and vegeta would destroy any and all of them at the same time with no effort,,, using fusion at ssj4 level they become gogeta, they actually wouldent even need to fuse
altho they are not in comics,,,maybe odin or thor as they are gods..
i personaly think its wolverine, his past is really horrible and tought making him so angry beasty tought and awesome.
and DONT tell me superman/batman are tought they are both lame….MARVEL is the real super heros not Dc…
alltho Flash is awesome (but not so tough)
Are we forgetting ” Phoenix “!!!
Head to head with the Beyonder???
You’ve got to be kidding.
What about the Sentry? all the powers of superman, for the most part, without the crippling effects of the “K” word. However, if we’re going with magic over might, what about Little Franklin Richards? Created an entire universe in his ball to save his family and other heroes from the big bad? Look at some of the “little people”, not just the big names.
Who cares? Do you have a real job or do you sit in the basement all day under your mom and dads house just playing video games?
If we expand it to include non-traditional comic books, what about Q from Star Trek (I do believe there are some comic books that include him, but haven’t read it myself).
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Q_(Star_Trek)
I would have to say Wolverine…. He can recover from anything. Plus the fact that his bones are plated with adamantium, which, being fictional, is allowed to be a literally indistructible metal. Probably has some sort of weakness, but I can’t think of any.
As for the Silver Surfer, I didn’t even realise he did anything! I mean, I know he can destroy whole planets and stuff, but seriously, what does he actually do?
the sentry, then the hulk after wwh, then blackbolt. DC SUCKS.
molecule man, without a doubt. he’s been reformed and has the power to control molecules on a cosmic scale. he could vaporize ANY super hero on any list on a whim. the beyonder is another. as far as wolverine, he’s pretty tuff, but the muscles and cartilage can be severed by anyone with super strength. Silver Surfer cannot be the most powerful because his creator can still control him and his powers.
When you are talking about *toughness,* not power, people like Scarlet Witch and Charles Xavier cannot rate.
Half a brick in the noggin, and they are down!
In Marvel Comics, the toughest hero was Wolverine, until Red Hulk came along! Wolverine was your basic unstoppable berserker, who would keep coming no matter what, until he gets you. In Civil War, when other heroes were wasting time infighting, he alone remembered that the real perpetrator who killed 60 schoolchildren was still loose, and went after him alone- well there was a squad of SHIELD with him, but they didn’t last. NITRO blew ALL the flesh off Wolverine’s adamantium skeleton, and *assumed* he was dead. Wolverine quietly regenerated and came at him again.
Red Hulk beat THOR PLUS the ODINFORCE, he was defeated by the Hulk, but beat him in the rematch, displaced in Time. He punched out the Watcher, defeated Silver Surfer, tried Galactus, basically butchered the Grandmaster.
The Thing has been portrayed as withstanding vast amounts of punishment. Fighting Wonder Man, years ago (because of the Puppet-Master) who was stronger than him, he was thinking “I’m a lot tougher than Wondy- but he shouldn’t be folding this fast!”
In DC Comics, the toughest hero is Superman, without a doubt. Sure, you can take him down with Kryptonite, but that will get you only so far! If you don’t look out Superman will summon his willpower and shove it up where the sun don’t shine- agony or no agony! Lobo is not as strong as Superman, but has taken him down while drunk (and forgotten all about it afterward), being another unstoppable regenerating monster of a guy.
When Batman and Alfred were reviewing evidence on the first Azrael we saw, Bruce Wayne marvelled at the huge exit-wound holes in his armour which he had ditched on his way to see his son one last time, saying, “What can keep a man going with such horrific injuries?” Alfred replied dryly, “I think you can answer that, sir.”
In the latestWildstorm Comics I saw, Mr. Majestic was impaled on a sword that was better than Zealot’s own- which she boasted to Captain Atom, could shave the electrons off of atoms- that was supposed to kill him. Then he still got up (actually, he never went down!) to pursue the rest of the WildCATs!
The Grifter I (Cole Cash) and Backlash I (Marc Slayton) have taken terrific dmage, and still come from behind and beat their foes. In Kindred, Backlash was left for dead having fallen off a cliff, and still came back to fight sci-enhanced werebeasts, ripping the horns off one of them, while looking like he couldn’t stand.
How can we forget Atom Ant?!? He would destroy everyone!
I’m going to go with Doctor Manhattan.
This is an impossible question. There are just too many SUPERHEROES [I post that in all caps for people who keep posting villains] but in my opinion it would have to be either Batman or Wolverine. Like other people have stated, Batman is smart enough to exploit nearly every other superheroes weaknesses and Wolverine has that healing factor and the animal rage of the Hulk [plus a well executed plan could allow him to easily overpower someone potentially dangerous to him like Magneto]. As a final note, I think that superman’s kryptonite weakness makes him the weakest of all the superheroes. I don’t care how strong or fast he is, he shouldn’t even be in the top 10 because of this one glaring and obvious weakness that even a two-bit thief could exploit.
dude Roland Deschain from Stephen King’s The Dark Tower series, although hes not a super hero, he has the power of Ka and nothing can stop him from reaching the tower… he could hypnotize hulk to calm him and then shoot him when hes down..
One problem I see with such “invincible” characters like wolverine and the hulk, is that superman could just fly them into outerspace.
Wonder woman on a schoolgirl uniform 2 sizes smaller than her actual size. There you go, even girls would go for that.
I think Batman would win, because he has no super powers and therefore he could not copy him.
I think it is a SEVERE oversight to not have Zatanna in the top spot, or at least the top 3. Are we forgetting she can make ANYTHING happen? She could make Superman’s blood boil if she wanted! Heck, she could take kryptonite out of thin air.
Batman is the best! He even beat Superman. HE is the ulimate super hero.
Superman is actually very weak when you consider he has NO resistance to magic. Themes of Superman as a WMD play into modern day stories often.
You know, I actually hate it when these questions surface on the internet. Everybody has an opinion, even if they have not idea about what they are talking.
If you want to discuss super-heros, read comic books.
Just how if you want to discuss “The Great Gatsby” read “The Great Gatsby.”
Ok Butter cup from the power puff girls will def kick all their asses
Everyone is talking about the classics – superman, batman, hulk, thor, SS, etc. Than someone post about Karmin Rider? WTF?
Anyway, what about Anung un Rama. AKA Hellboy. He’s just so…awesome. He’s got attitude, he’s got skills, he’s got weapons, and he’s supposed to bring about the end of the world. Well, he will, according to the angel of death, which not even superman could defeat. Thor, maybe, but that gets all philosophical.
But Hellboy FTW! He defeated the Ogni Juhad!
Superman DID beat the Hulk in the DC vs. Marvel Crossover.
There really are too many choices to argue for effectively so I will go with the Hulk since he appears to have the fewest glaring weaknesses.
Superman is great, but as mentioned, with Kryptonite he is easily beatable as Batman and several others have proved from time to time. He also has the weakness to magic and psionic attacks so anyone with mind control like Professor X or Phoenix/Jean Grey would be able to subdue him.
Wonder Woman is powerless if she loses her belt or is bound by a man and the show and comics have all shown that she easily succumbs to chloroform or gas attacks even with her belt. Bizzaro and Doomsday both beat the snot out of her so I imagine Hulk wouldn’t have too much of a problem. Supergirl wouldn’t do much better as she isn’t as strong as Superman and has the same glaring weaknesses.
Superman also “dies” after fighting Doomsday with no influence of Kryptonite. I would say Hulk’s superstrength would be on par with Doomsday leading me to believe eventually he could topple Superman just from the physical beating he would give him. Darkseid has also shown he can take down Superman in a physical battle without Kryptonite involved.
I’m really surprised Phoenix was left off this list and also Wolverine. Spiderman is also pretty tough and resourceful.
if you were to have all the superheros do an all out brawl superman would win just because the creaters know that he would always win
duplicate boy vs every superhero?
sounds like he would win
he is as tough as them all right???
I can’t believe! I can’t >F< believe! None of you mentioned Spiderman (except few good men). Spiderman could beat every single one of them. Why? Because Peter Parker is a “will-be” scientist. He’s intelligent, and agile! and the only psychical power he has is Spidey sense. That’s the only thing the Duplicate boy can take him. (Duplicate boy?? what tha fak?! who imagined him?!?!? a stupid kiddo, come oooooon!!!). Besides that, Duplicate boy is the most, THEE MOST useless “superhero” that exists. Dexters mom is more efficient… because Duplicate boy copies (wimp!) powers and then, he has to learn how to use it, by that time, he gets knocked out couple of hundred times!
Spiderman is best to me, along with the Wolverine because they’re cool. Spidey avoids bullets while Wolverine drinks them and then “ejects” them. When Hulk gets mad, he breaks ANYTHING! And when Wolverine gets mad… he scythes Hulk! And then… He comes… The one, The only… Chuck Norris!
Therefore, Chuck Norris would be the best superhero, but he’s better than the best, so he doesn’t count.
I’d be most thrilled if I saw a Spiderman – Wolverine fight. They’re both cool, Spidey is smart, but Wolverine surprises me every time.
And as for Superman… Superman’s weakness isn’t the kryptonite. Superman’s weakness is that everyone knows that kryptonite hurts him. If that wasn’t so obvious, he’d be great, although you can’t reverse Earth’s time by lightspeed flying around it, but that’s good and creative idea…
So, my scale would be
6. Jason Statham
5. C. Xavier
4. Superman – (I bet Superman’s dream is to become a Kryptoniteman)
3. Wolverine
2. Spiderman
1. Hiro Nakamura
(that duplicate boy… hahahahahaha oooh man…)
There are a lot of comments on here devoid of common sense. People saying “Spiderman” and “Wolverine”?…..really? This isn’t a popularity contest.
Personally I think the “toughest” would be Hulk and the “strongest”(or at least hardest to defeat) would probably be Scarlet Witch.
iron man
NARUTO
WRONG ALL WRONG!~! The strongest super hero is Mr.Rogers, watch the animated clip “Ultimate Battle” and you will see all the heros and villians of all time fight for greatness but only one will survive……….
It is tough to choose with many supers in the market. Why we value Super heroes for the ability to be strong, to fight, for how many super power it has or the ability to save people…is there a relationship with strong and commitment? That is why my vote will go to Duplicate Boy he will duplicate all the good and that will make us indestructible…the fact that are always new powers will work with those that lose faith… too mucho pink?
hello
Well.. I have to say, I’d undoubtedly go for the Bat. Yes, Mr. Bruce Wayne himself.
Ummm… he’s the strongest, not physically, but his power of will… man… also he’s the smartest one, although sometimes his undeniable degree of “insanity” may cloud that fact a little bit.
And… please consider this: he doesn’t have any superpowers. YET, he’s been scaring the crap out of Gotham’s underworld… there are rumors he can fly, he’s super-strong, he’s otherwordly… YET, he’s human. You know what it would take for a human to become such an urban legend?
He’s trained to the point of perfecting his body and sharping his mental skills to become “The world’s greatest detective”. And YET, he has to fight his own personal demons every single day (and night!), which gives a testimony to his unrelenting determination.
I’m not sure which JLA chapter it was, but I remember an episode when the whole Super Bunch had to fight some extraterrestrial menace. At a certain point, they were all lost and not quite knowing how to handle the situation.
Along came the Bat with a perfectly conceived scheme, and defeated the alien motherxxxxxrs.
By the story’s end, Superman and all the rest where watching as the Dark Knight flew away back to his gothamite darkness.
Then, after some deep thought, Big Blue himself said to the rest of the band something in the lines of: “There goes the most dangerous man on Earth”.
Also, you should read “Babel” in the JSA series (I think it was there, or JLA, not sure now) to see how good old long-ears had his fellow JLAers all measured-up and was ready to blow every single one of them, should their superpowers ever turn to the service of evil.
With all this being said, I mus add, I do not like Batman JSA/JLA stories at all. I believe he should be given his own “universe” in the DCU.
That’s it.
So, that’s my vote.
Cheers.
Adrián.

hulk
Scarlet witch
DOOMSDAY!!! he killed bunches of kryptonians INCLUDING SUPERMAN! he dies, he comes back stronger, and repeat. im not really a comic book nerd so feel free to correct me if im wrong though
Doomsday, end of discussion. If superman kills doomsday, doomsday comes back to life stronger and kills superman, if the hulk kills him, he comes back to life stronger and kills the hulk. if all the characters in the whole comic book universe gang up on doomsday, he comes back stronger and… you get the idea.
Hmm, forget kryptonite. If your hero can beat Supes only if he has kryptonite, it doesn’t count. That’s cheap. That’s like saying you can beat Bruce Lee in a fight and then pulling out a gun. It doesn’t mean you’re stronger, it means you fight dirty and know you cant win. Going by actual talents and abilities I’d say the four Superman-killers are…
Thor- Norse God who slays horrible behemoth monsters on his spare time with a magic hammer. We recently learned that his entire time in comics he’s been holding back almost all his power.
Capt. Marvel aka Shazam- He’s beaten Superman before without much trouble because he’s essentially Magic Superman
Goku- Originally appeared as Japanese comic adventurer and then superhero. In his final comic book arc he fights an evil being who ate god and stole his powers. Goku won. He also is a martial artist who uses chi aka ki which in the DC universe counts as magic. The DBZ universe suffers from a bad case of Ridiculous Overpowering. In DB power scaled gradually but once the comic added that Z to the title, every character had the power to destroy planets simply by pointing a finger after only a few issues. Though only 3 characters in the series ever actually do that. Goku would never destroy a planet, by the way, so anyone who’d say that Goku would win a fight with that tactic doesn’t know Goku
Sentinel – He’s a shameless Superman rip-off from Marvel.
Most ridiculous, shouldn’t even be mentioned super-heroes? Spider-man, Wolverine.
No. I love Spider-man and Wolverine is okay but they are characters who were by design supposed to be weak or lower-tier heroes. Spiderman had talents he could use to fight common thugs and his wits allowed him to win against slightly tougher villains who he had little chance against on a 1-on-1 drag out fight. Wolverine was a gritty sob and scrapper who originally didn’t even have claws. They were a part of the suit. He also was terrified of bullets because even though he can survive them, it hurts him a whole lot. He goes as far as to describe it one of the worst experiences of his life. He got increasingly over powered and, honestly, its getting ridiculous. He doesn’t even have an excuse. Now he also fights the incarnation of death every time he “dies” and that’s their new explanation for how he keeps coming back. He no longer seems to feel pain or care when machineguns rip through his body and that adamantium crap is annoying. Yeah, its tough but I’m supposed to buy that NOTHING can break it? Ooh, His brain is fully encased in adama- BULLSH%$T!!
Spiderman beat the crap out of the Hulk… and the Hulk is probably the strongest dude out there. Unfortunately the Hulk doesn’t have much brains though, just brawn. Spiderman is tough and he has the cunning to win a fight.
There are so many to choose from! I think I would have to mention my top 3:
-Wolverine
-Batman
-Jean Grey/Phoenix
it would defiantley be between yoda and He-Man
what about hancock?
the hulk is the best just read world war hulk and planet hulk. theres a reason hes called the world breaker.
My two cents
From real life- Bruce Lee (remember, he killed Chuck Norris in Way of the Dragon)
Comics- this is a tough one, but I would have to go with Batman because he is the smartest super hero and would figure out every other hero’s weakness (and every hero has a weakness)
Video Games- Either hero of the two awesome games that just came out: Cole from inFamous or Alex from Prototype (my personal opinion: Alex may have more powers, but Cole is smarter. Cole would win.)
So, Cole vs. Batman vs. Bruce Lee. It would end up being a draw, because Batman would figure out Cole’s weakness (Batman would probably wear plastic armor or something to counter Cole’s electricity), but Cole would own Bruce Lee, but Bruce Lee would beat Batman (it would be a straight karate fight, and Bruce Lee would obviously win that). So, there is no greatest super hero because all of them have strengths and weaknesses that can be exploited.
uhmn, The more story a super hero would have, the more possibility that his vulnerability will be exposed. if a super hero for example, a new one emerged, named super chip munk, and he would have a one movie, he could be the super hero of all super heroes. see? its the whims and caprices of the sory maker what would he portray his hero. this super chip munk may do scenes that he may have the power to create substances like kriptonite and kick superman in inside a well of kriptonite. or perhaps super chip munk might have the power that could make the hulk crippled for life by destroying the hulk’s nervous system. what am i driving to tell ya is that the powers of these super heroes lies on the imaginations, whims and caprices of their creators. sad to say that it is all a fantasy so wake up! the real super heroes dwell in the skull of the creators of these super heroes. if it so happened that one of them is your father, i wont be surprised that one day you can also be a super hero.
I actually think that Wonder Woman is the toughest superhero, because she can use her femine wiles to disarm her enemies.
Batman, no dice.
The silver surfer is the most powerful. . . who ever you put up against him he would obliterate , no problems .
HIS DEAL: As the former herald of the world-devourer Galactus, Norrin Radd possesses he “power cosmic,” an energy source capable of almost any feat imaginable, making him one of the most powerful beings in the cosmos.
WHY HE’S #1: The Surfer is the fringe character that seperates humanity from the omnipotence of Galactus or Eternity, making him tops on our list. His power cosmic is so powerful that it’s not a matter of what the Surfer can do, it’s what he can’t. Matter-manipulation, the power reserves of stars, traveling at lightspeed … he may even be able to create life. He’s truely in a power class of his own.
Sigh…
If anyone actually took the time to research like I did (It took about 2 minutes…) then you would realize that the Hulk would win. If you think I need reasons… Here they are:
He can survive in space for a certain amount of time, he can breathe underwater if he needs to, he has no (known) limit to his strength, he can leap into the Earth’s lower orbit and across continents, he can resist psychic control, he is resistant to most forms of injury or damage and if he IS hurt he can heal from most wounds in seconds, he can grow stronger from radiation and dark magic, he has survived inner solar temperatures, nuclear explosions, and planet-splitting impacts, and on some occasions Bruce Banner has been able to control the Hulk (In other words, brains AND braun). So, Bruce Banner doesn’t actually have a weakness in his Hulk form unless he transforms into his human form in battle which he won’t because the Hulk WILL be angry and he WILL win because the more he gets mad, the stronger he becomes until he’s unstoppable. Also, Greg Pak said that the “Hulk was stronger than any mortal–and most immortals–who ever walked on the Earth,” in World War Hulk. I don’t think I need any more reasons why the Hulk would win…
After much research, it is without a doubt DR. MANHATTAN . He has omnipotent powers.
He can change (or breakdown) molecular structure, move through time and space. He can be destroyed, and recreate his own molecular DNA.
Could send the Hulk to another space and time, melt Thor’s hammer, create Kryptonite to defeat Superman, separate the surfer from his board with one motion of his hand, and has unmatched intelligence.
Nuff said
WHAT!?? tooooo eaaasyyyyy
Dan from streetfighter!
Who the hell wants to fight him in his pink gi.
Who wins? DAN DOES!
Whatever u say, for me the toughest Superman of all Superman is the most powerful superhero of all. He can defeat everyone of them before they can sense him coming. And that Superman has no weakness. Not even kryptonite. Even Dark Darksied, Phoenix, Galactus, Beyonder, Fatal Five, etc. has no match against him.
peter from 5 years gone on heroes he can copy powers of others he shown he can surive nukes by his healing, stop time, control your thoughts, control time and space, blow up cities if he wanted to, you cant see him, move objects with his mind, super strength, phasing, freezing, and who knew what else he gained in 5 years
theres many other superheros that need to be in this . cpt atom, marvel, theres a couple in marvel comcis that i know im missing. but the fact of the matter is , yeah hulk can keep getting mad and get stronger but, and this is a big but. he couldnt breath in outer space . is the movie when he was on the jet he alomost froze to death . so yeah alot of people think thor is the most powerful but that seems crazy when hulk went to his home land and almost killed him there . thor is always gettting his butt kick by the hulk . and theres know doubt that silver surfer will kill them both , but the that dosent make him the strongest . he was given his powers by galactis , the planet eater. as for the professor . he cant get into every mutants head just the ones that dont protect them selves from him . why do you think magneto wheres that helmet. and his brother the juggernout is up on him too . he wheres helmet as well. dont get me wrong i love all these guys . probably the hulk the most but , he cant be the strongest not with that flaw . lets focus on the man of steel . yea he might become week when kryptonite is in front of him but , if im not mistaken he overpowerd that flaw in a comic some years ago . plus superman can fight angels and freeze the hulk over and over and over intill he sees away to beat him .or just grab him and take him up to space . its really hard to say whos the strongest between silver , cpt atom, cpt marvel ,and superman . if i had to pick one i would pick cpt marvel. next would be silver surfer , then superman , then cpt atom . and we are forgetting the protector of the universe phenix. she has unlimited power. but i just think surfer is or might be the strongest even though he was created by a much more powerful being.
super sonic would kill every one. why? he is invencible! goes from point a to b in 0 seconds, hes strength has never seen a limit, intire dimensions have been distroied because he fought in them, and he is a god distroyier. he cant be defeated.
The most powerful being is One Above All, not to beconfused with teh leader of the celestials. as for wolverine he can be taken out by magneto with magneto only using a pinkey. seperman has ben defeated multiple times due to kryptonite. BUT he has two aiding factors. He later developes a resistance to the substance and if he wee to remain of the surface of the sun for extended time and become sun drenched he can take down just about any being.
