Maintenance work is complete – thanks for your patience!
Hello, everyone -
As many of you will have noticed over the last 24 hours, the scheduled maintenance work caused Answers to be both unavailable and to exhibit some unexpected behaviour when it returned. This essential engineering work needed to be completed and we’re happy to confirm this is now over.
We are aware, however, that during the time the site was unavailable we caused frustration and disappointment to many of you, our most committed and loyal Answers contributors. So we want to say that we’re sorry for the inconvenience we caused.
We have seen many of your comments about the maintenance work and we are happy to clarify that this will not affect any Top Contributor badges, Leaderboards, or any other features. We would also like to assure you that we only undergo this kind of work when it is truly necessary and intend to minimize any occurrences of this kind in the future.

Um, it’s not working for me. There is only two comments in the last hour so it appears to be working for everyone but me? What the hell?
If the Yahoo! Answers is working for you then please say yes.
I would like to know why it’s not working for me.

I keep getting mails for best answer for the same question I answered. Opened my inbox this AM to find 104 messages of the same message:
“Yahoo! Answers: Your answer has been chosen as the best answer”
Anyone else having this issue???

If your maintenance work is complete then why do I keep getting Email after Email saying my answer to the same question from 5 months ago has been selected as a best answer. The question was “How much wood do you think?” So far I have received the same EMail notification more than 80 times. 62 of those notifications were consecutive.

Since yesterday I have been recieveing emails from yahoo answers every ten minutes saying I have a best answer. But its the same answer over and over. It is stuck I have had over a 100 emails so far can someone please look into this
I just looked at one of my answers that, like many, that have been coming up as “tiebreakers.” This particular question is in tiebreaker, yet the only votes are for my answer. The percent is 100%.
Does this have anything to do with the new fix?

It doesn’t appear like answers has been fixed… there’s practically no one on the site and it takes at least 3 minutes for a question to show up.
But seriously, where are all the people?! There’s no point in using the site if no one’s on it…

Yes, I began to get the shakes, after a while, but I am a patient gal, so, I’m good now!
I would rather You Take Your Time & Get It Right, then risk another full day of nothing to do!
I’m also glad to hear that my Badges were safe, that was really my only question during the whole down period.
BUT…NOW that it’s over… I have the question of…WHAT EXACTLY, Were the improvements/Upgrades? I notice a few of the obvious, But, PLEASE, is there a list of the work that was done? I would like to read/see it.
On a sad note…I was very upset when I jumped on the Suggestion Board & had to drudge through all that horrible gibberish to find a descent comment about the status of the work being done.(which I never found) I thank you for ridding it, and I hope that you have the ability to track those that left the vulgar content & suspend them.(even if they were anon) I mean..Do we really want those type as members here? IT came to the point where that was the discussion in my groups instead of the work being done.
All-in-all, I Thank Yahoo, for it’s service. Prior to becoming I was (still am ) disabled & home ridden. Y!/A has given me purpose. So, I Thank You!!!
If possible, I would appreciate an e-mail to my question. I’m sure I’ll forget how to return to this page, as I have only become familiar with the computer a day longer then I have Y!/A, and that was Jan. 02,’09.

I really enjoy reading about new things and yahoo answer blog has opened my eyes to some good information and i jjust want to say thank you very much.
