  1. What was the last maintenance about? I noticed the front page of Yahoo changed a few times but I still have the old one. And what’s going to change this time?

  2. Of course… Yahoo! Answers has to be down on my Sweet Sixteen. Just my luck.

  3. Will you be replacing the Community Moderation system? That’s the one thing that needs fixing the most. Everything else seems to work okay. I have been seeing fewer “coffe breaks” and the questions are posting faster since the last maintence outage. Community Moderation as it currently is is a big joke.

  7. Can you somehow filter out all these answers that are the exact same no matter what the question and have links to questionable websites. I have noticed them more and more each day.

  27. Why do you do these “maintenance” things? I have yet to see fewer problems after each “maintenance”, and continue to run into little “coffee breaks”. And “moderation” of the site still sucks.

  34. Yesterday i received unbidden a window that listed all my questions and comments back to Feb. 2008. i have several questions about it. What is the advantage for me if i were to subscribe to this feed? While it is a good way to reference my questions and comments (to have it all together in one place), won’t it take up a great deal of space in my storage? Is subscribing to this feed without cost or obligation? Why didn’t the feed include all of my questions from the time i joined YA in Oct. 2007? Thanks for answering.

  36. Just curious as to when as part of your update that you will be updating the top 10 in each category. i’ve been asking about the basketball section for nearly a year now- it’s been a long time since that has been updated and i’ve seen other sections that do get updated… so just wondering what’s up with that?

  38. Routine maintenance is obviously needed but why so often I wonder?

The only thing that does not work is the moderation which is a joke. Whilst I accept that mistakes are made, they should be rectified in the appeals process and I have never know this to happen.

I post a question such as ‘ How many people regularly go to church and what will they get out of it?’ and it gets removed for not being a question.

I appeal, pointing out that it is indeed a question if you are applying normal rules of grammar and await reinstatement. All I get back is a computer generated message telling me it has violated and is not a question.

I suggest the only thing wrong with this site is the moderation that is so bad, it is almost not worth posting. What level of education is required for the job of moderator, or is it, as I suspect, computer generated? Fuelled by how many complaints you get from the people who wished you hadn’t posted the question.

    Moderation needs far more improvement

  39. Why are the top ten answerers not updated anymore? With all this maintenance you think it would be something easy to do. What happened to the monthly updates?

  40. If anyone is missing the comments they posted, Yahoo has been censoring the blog for any criticism.
