Happy Birthday, Yahoo! Answers –we’re three years old!

This week Yahoo! Answers is celebrating its third birthday. We invite you to join in on the celebration by offering you this e-book (PDF) highlighting our favorite questions and answers from 2008. Please feel free to share it with your family and friends.

Last year we asked all of you how Answers has impacted your life. This year, we’d like to know what the most useful advice was that you received this year from the Answers community.

Answers now has over 132 million users worldwide and over 750 million answers to questions. Wow! Thanks to all of you for your great contributions. Happy Birthday, Yahoo! Answers!

  9. It works now. I haven’t read it all, but from what I’ve skimmed, it looks really good. I think maybe you should add a link to this file in the Help pages, for people to see what really well-written questions and answers look like.

  12. The e-book link worked for me. I got to Lou and scrolled down to a Q posted by David S,but no answer. I was taken to the category. So now what? Do i have to scroll through all the Q to find that A? I don’t think so. Ya know how long that would take? What good is it anyway if we don’t see our Q or our contacts Q? Or will we?. Shouldn’t we get a notice from Y!A, that would be nice, Lou! ;)

  28. I am alive today because of YahooAnswer. You bet I will contribute my knowledge to the miraculous world of YahooAnswer.

    I am an obsessed researcher and writer and I will educate for free on YahooAnswer because I can.

    It was my wish as a teenager to find an adult who could understand me. A paid psychiatrist paid by my mother could not get the truth out of me.

    I needed confidentiality as a child.

    My parents did not understand me, neither did my siblings. YahooAnswer understood me since 2006 like no one has ever understood me.

    I only answer questions, I do not ask on YahooAnswer.

    I am obligated to answer without asking, because I wished the answer when I was 14 years old.

    YahooAnswer is so powerful, it is changing the face of our planet. 750 millions answers, holy macaroni !

    I can spend up to 5 hours answering one answer on YahooAnswer. I have to much knowledge in my head to not share it with the world. YahooAnswer trained me well.

    By the way, when I discovered YahooAnswer in June of 2006, my answer ended up as the last question asked in NewYorkCity Purple Brain Time Square and Hard Rock Cafe, filled with Hollywood Celebrities.

    Richard, back then was the number one of YahooAnswer. A grandfather at the # 1 status on YahooAnswer. Richard rocks !

    Richard is the one who told me that my answer on June 13th , 2006 was seen by over a 100,000 people.

    When I wrote my answer on June 13th, I had no clue I was live. It took me one month to figure out I was on tv live. I thought, I was only answering a question on my computer. I had no clue I was a Truman Show.

    Can you imagine searching online and discovering 4 weeks later that you were on a live tv show!

    The question Richard asked was so out there, I had to answer it. Search on YahooAnswer:\
    “Mystery 25 ” and I am Lapis Lazuli.

    so did YahooAnswer.

    I love the mind behind YahooAnswer. A master in disguised. Who ever invented YahooAnswer must become an immortal.

I thought Y!A was later than 3yrs! i love this site, i go on it EVERYDAY (without fail) & my most useful advice has been in the ”Pregnancy” & ”Trying To Conceive” catagory, & also the ”Relationships” one too & a few others, i have learn sooo much more about pregnancy & unborn baby stuff, & periods & the sperm & the egg & all sorts of stuff like that, i probably wouldnt know as much as i do now if it wasnt for this site !!! i cannot get enough of it, i love answering & helping people & i get happy & excited when ive been choosen as ”Best Answer” (”,) i really like reading peoples questions & everything! whenever i dont know something i come straight on here its been a MASSIVE help for me, i can stay on this site for hours on end!! ive stayed on here early hours of the morning countless times, i love it love it love it!   38. The site is only 3 years old? We have come a long way in 3 years. I discovered Yahoo answers less than a year ago, and I am a yahoo answers addict now. There is lot’s lots of stuff to do here, Answer, ask, vote on best answers, read resolved questions, switch avatars, and for almost every questions including really off the wall questionns, that it is really amazing when the question has already been asked and answered.

  39. Yahoo answers have simply been a wonderful place where to answer to other people’s queries and ask questions even thought i rarely asked any.

    The one or two year has been simply wonderful. Sometimes the questions answered were normal, rather than that challenging and it gave me an oppurtunity to fight against my non-active mind and ofcourse learn from my successes and failures.

    The creative, technical, producing mind behind it must work hard and that too spontaneously. Wish you all the best of wishes because you are unaware of the amounts of life that have been helped through this place. It makes live much easier and one to live up to!

    I had no clue it could be done that quick. Can you imagine, what the world will be after 10 years of YahooAnswer.

    So far, I have answered questions on YahooAnswer asked by Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton and Tom of Maine. What an honor to voice my opinion to them.

    I have always wanted to tell Donald Trump what I think as a business woman. My wish has been granted, thanks to you , YahooAnswer.

    What I love about YahooAnswer is that I am unedited unless I misbehaved. My answer has been deleted more than once because I was a rebel.
    I paid the price for my misbeahvior, lol , I am learning to be more diplomatic.

    I realized on YahooAnswer that we are all still teenagers.

    YahooAnswer is only 3 years old, no wonder there is a rumor that Bill Gates is buying Yahoo !

    Bill Gates lives an hour and a half away from me.
    Because of Bill Gates, we have YahooAnswer today.

    I have laughed so hard on YahooAnswer, it helped me forget about my physical pain. When you have constant pain in your body, you need a distraction.

    YahooAnswer is the best distraction there is to forget about physical pain.

    The entire team of YahooAnswer rocks. You are such a great team, your energy generated 750 MILLIONS Answers. That speaks for itself.

  69. I remember the 1st birthday party we had back at Yahoo HQ in 2006. Boy was that fun! I especially enjoyed helped with “greening the school” to help clean out that schools garden, workshop area. I wonder if there are pictures of that 2 years later?

  92. Happy Birthday Yahoo Answers! Thank you for providing such a fun place to hang out. I’ve met the most wonderful people. If it wasn’t for Jen, hiba, Stephen K, Jake, dizz, Sawman, wolfkiss, peggy, Milad, Santa Baby, and all my other wonderful contacts, I’d be lonely in my new home.

  93. When this blog was first posted I made the first comment. Why was it deleted? I said happy birthday and told you how YAnswers has impacted my life. I learned to have a back up account since too many good people have had their accounts “suspended.”
