Another maintenance/outage update

Tags:

Hello, everyone–

The Yahoo! Answers team is happy to announce that the site is back after undergoing essential maintenance.  We can see from your hundreds of passionate comments on our blogs worldwide that you are all fond of the site. There are even a few Answerholics among you and we’re sorry we had to deprive you of your favorite site for a few hours. But please believe us–the work was essential and will make Answers stronger and healthier from now on.

In the short term, there will be another planned outage on Thursday, November 20, from 12:30 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. PST (8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. GMT). This will conclude the planned maintenance for the immediate future.

Thanks for your patience.

  4. It’s nice you guys concluded the maintenance, but when the heck are you going to update the “Top Answerer” status? It has to be a couple of months now that there has been no change, at least in the Sports/Cycling section.

  5. You said it would be at 12:30 but it turned out to be around 12:15. You got me right in the middle of answering a question.

  7. Again guys, if you would explain if the maintenance is only behind the scenes or will be visible, hundreds of people will not need to ask here and in questions. Save us some time and explain what the heck you are doing so the users don’t have to do your job.

  8. You do realize that the site is still down using Chrome although it can be accessed via the Incognito window.

It has to do with some sort of settings but it’s very difficult to change because I haven’t figured it out yet.
