Why was that featured?
Occasionally people from the Answers community suggest questions they think we should highlight, and while we can’t showcase them all, some do stand out. So here we go with another round of “Why was that featured?”
Is it rude to correct people when they write your name wrong? We thought many people could relate to it and would benefit from the answers. Maybe some of the worst offenders (or those who never paid any mind to the topic) will be more attentive once they read the question and answer.
Any tips on how to loosen a tight knot? It might not be the most interesting question, but if you’ve ever had to waste half an hour getting a tight knot out of something, you’ll appreciate the trick to loosening those pesky little annoyances.
Yahoo! Answers editors spend countless hours going through the Q&A on Answers to highlight some of the top stuff, but with the amount of content added every minute, it’s impossible to catch all the great questions and answers that the community comes up with.
If you’ve seen a question that you think should be featured, send it to y_answrs_editors@yahoo.com, and we’ll take a look.
Thanks for all the great suggestions we’ve already received.

Interesting…
I still think you could have picked better questions…
While much of the featured stuff is interesting and useful, I feel that questions that could apply to anyone and be useful would be the best. Or maybe a question from each general category could be featured daily. That way, everyone has something they can relate to.
I think most of them are interesting. There’s no need to explain, in my opinion. If I don’t think it’s going to be an interesting question, I just don’t read it.
I think those questions are extremely interesting. I do not know why people frown on them. I have learned from those questions a lot.
Rachel’s question about “Is it rude to correct people when they write your name wrong? ” is a very interesting question, and one can learn how to appropriately correct someone when they misspell your name. I was actually the one who suggested Staffs to highlight this question.
Also, I have been seeing very interesting questions being featured on the home page, so I cannot complain.
I also would like to thank the Staffs for accepting my suggestion.
Take care.
Dad
It’s interesting to see what you guys find interesting.
hehhehe
you are right its impossible to catch every great questions while thousands of them exists every hour.keep up the good work,i think the featured question most of them are interesting except that “how can i find a guide to age of empires” that was meaningless
i know the joke was here..thanks 42
i hope this ‘why was that featured’ will be continued. it’s interesting section
I don’t think there is anything wrong with the first question. I personally feel annoyed when people misspell my name.
First, I have to correct people ALL the time in the real world because my last name is “Tracy.” That means everyone assumes it’s my (and my 3 childrens’) first name. The Vet assumes it’s my dog’s name too.
ON TOP OF THAT– 85% of all people toss in an “e” to make it “Tracey.” I sincerely believe this is an innate act of generosity of some kind on peoples’ part, but it gets exasperating when names are computerized, meaning that ‘Tracy’ won’t run up if you punch in ‘Tracey.’ And then you have to explain (again) that it’s your last name, not your first name…
My point is this: HECK, since most people get my name wrong anyway, I might as well be gracious about it.
Also you all know that these people are the influential ones. Politicians, businessmen, media personnel.
Someone somewhere will ALWAYS have a question about something, and if I’m not interested in one I’ll move on to the next. The only stupid question is the one that goes unasked.
Why is there never any Questions and answers from the Business & Finance category ever featured on Best of Answers or listed on the Yahoo Answers page?? is it too boring??? lol can you try to feature some of the categories that haven’t been featured yet?? and can Canada have the Best of Answers at the top of the category section instead of just 4 above the Questions
