Ask Mike: In Search of Bigfoot
Hey Guys,
Bigfoot is one of history’s greatest mysteries. Does the camera-shy beast really exist, or are all those witnesses who’ve claimed to have seen him just a bunch of crackpots? I used Yahoo! Answers to launch my own investigation.
A search on “bigfoot” brings up an astonishing number of questions. One of the more intriguing inquiries asked how the Bigfoot legend began. The answer, according to BigfootEncounters.com: Bigfoot has been around since the 19th century, but his legend really grew after a “December 1959 True magazine article describing the discovery of large, mysterious foot prints the year before in Bluff Creek, California.”
Interesting, but some folks aren’t content to simply understand how the Bigfoot story started. They want to see the big guy with their own eyes! One enthusiastic community member sought advice on how whether Bigfoot excursions are a good idea. Others asked for opinions as to what is most likely to be real — Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster, or UFOs.Not wanting to miss out on the fun, I asked for answers on what it would take to be convinced beyond a shadow of a doubt that Bigfoot is real. A Barbara Walters interview with the big guy, perhaps? The question is still open, so feel free to chime in.
My opinion, for what it’s worth? If Hogzilla is real, why not a giant man-ape who likes apples?
